HPE technology and teams are being called in to help organizations tackle the challenges of COVID-19. See how HPE is delivering for customers and stakeholders in bold ways.
At the beginning of March, when California was in the early stages of realizing the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, CSU Sacramento had already begun plans to transition to virtual learning. From the time the University president called for transitioning to online courses, to launching new Aruba Wi-Fi access location, it took just over two weeks.
When Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson ordered schools to close because of COVID-19, Bentonville Schools had one business day to transition more than 18,000 students and some 1,200 teachers to a digital learning platform.
Torrance Memorial helped prepare for the current pandemic by establishing emergency services overflow facilities in less than 48 hours. To accommodate the rotating worksite model, Remote Access Points were created for secure, instant work from home kits to ensure healthcare continuity.
Tahoe Forest Health System and Barton Health extends their Aruba network infrastructure to ensure the delivery of high-quality care while safeguarding patients and staff. The healthcare organizations were able to quickly launch remote, drive-up and virtual initiatives to address the evolving COVID-19 crisis.
Aruba technology donated to UK NHS
Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been responding to COVID-19 since the first group of quarantined travelers were repatriated to the UK from Wuhan, China, to be housed on its premises in northwest England. The hospital planned and provisioned a 40-access-point Aruba wireless network in less than 24 hours in preparation for the arrival of the patients to the UK. Since then, the hospital has constructed further dedicated areas to treat COVID-19 patients using technology Aruba has donated to the NHS.
Planning for the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic included expediting two networking initiatives for The Vancouver Clinic. Using an Aruba networking infrastructure, the healthcare organization established a telemedicine program in less than a week, extended the hospital network to enable secure remote working, and created connectivity kits for instant pop-up medical facilities
HPE Financial Services (HPEFS) is designating more than $2 billion in financing specifically to help customers with their financial challenges stemming from the COVID-19 crisis, including cash-flow or liquidity issues.
HPE Aruba has donated and installed network infrastructure on board the GNV Splendid, a large passenger ferry owned by the MSC Group, which has been transformed into a floating hospital to battle the global COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. A network of 70 access points has been successfully installed providing Wi-Fi coverage for healthcare workers and patients on various decks of the ship.
Redeploying IT Equipment
One of the largest banks in the United States activated their business continuity plan for COVID-19 and determined they would need 40,000 laptops to move to full remote working protocol. The HPE Financial Services asset management team, which refurbishes a wide range of IT assets at end of use, was able to quickly provide most laptops, sourced from the bank’s recent lease returns and HPEFS pre-owned stock.
