RIOgaleão Airport enhances traveler experiences
RIOgaleão Airport deployed a new core network and mobile engagement solution. Now its passengers quickly and easily find flight information, restaurants, shops, and more using indoor navigation.
Challenge
The 2016 Olympics brought an extra 1.5M people through Rio de Janeiro’s airport. RIOgaleão needed an enterprise-grade network that would meet the stringent performance and reliability requirements of a multitenant environment.
Solution
The airport deployed a unified HPE network and Aruba mobile engagement solution to create a richer experience for travelers. It adopted Aruba’s AirWave management tools for optimizing Wi-Fi experiences and ClearPass for strong security.

Result
The network supports passenger check-in, boarding gates, baggage handling, and shopping. Passenger capacity has nearly doubled, more than 100 new shops and restaurants are supported, and boarding and passport control are much more efficient.
