    Before starting this learning path, you should have general industry server experience and an understanding of infrastructure management.

    After completing this learning path, you should be able to:

    • Identify and correctly position HPE ProLiant Compute server embedded management tools.
    • Differentiate between HPE iLO 5, UEFI ROM for HPE ProLiant Compute, agentless management, Intelligent Provisioning, the Active Health Systems viewer, and system update products (SUM, SUT and SPP) in terms of their function and expected use.
    • Connect to and configure HPE iLO 5 and use it to monitor server health and locate logs for server events
    • Install the HPE OneView appliance to manage and maintain firmware, implement compute and networking configurations, monitor the data center, and respond to issues.

Course 1: HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 Server Management Overview

Description: In this course, you learn about the new features and functionality introduced with the HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 servers for the embedded HPE ProLiant server management products. Enhancements and new design features for the HPE management processor: iLO 7 are covered, as well as the latest version of HPE UEFI System Utilities. Additionally, you learn about the latest versions of Active Health Viewer and System Update.


Objectives: After completing this course, you should be able to identify the latest features and functionality available with the HPE ProLiant Compute Management products.

Course 2: HPE Gen11 Server Management

Description: This course introduces the wide range of server management tools for HPE ProLiant Compute Gen11 servers. This includes utilities for setup such as UEFI, HPE Smart Storage Administrator and Intelligent Provisioning, updating, and monitoring utilities including HPE Service Pack for HPE ProLiant (SPP), HPE Integrated Lights Out (HPE iLO) Amplifier Pack. For HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers, HPE OneView, HPE Integrated Lights Out (HPE iLO6), HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Manager, and OpenBMC are highlighted.


Objectives: After completing this course, you should be able to identify the new features and enhancements offered by HPE Gen11 server management solutions.

Course 3: HPE iLO 5 Family Technical Training

Description: This course provides you with the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of HPE iLO 5. This course introduces key features including security, scripting tools, and HPE iLO Federation. You learn how to navigate through the web interface, get an introduction to the ecosystem where HPE iLO 5 plays a central role, and examine and practice more advanced tasks to secure your server. Finally, you learn to distinguish between license choices and employ best practices for setting up roles and security.


Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to differentiate between types of licenses and describe the advanced license features of HPE iLO5, explain different types of server updates, and perform updates using Smart Update Manager (SUM).

This course also includes demos and guided lab activities to practice and explore the functionalities of Redfish API and RESTful Interface Tool.

You learn all the basics and concepts related to HPE Smart Update Solution that is SUM, SUT, and SPP.

Course 6: HPE Intelligent Provisioning Foundation

Description: This course introduces you to the capabilities of HPE Intelligent Provisioning, including deployment, setup, the everyday tasks for maintenance, tasks for server retirement, and information on troubleshooting.


Objectives: After completing this course, you should be able to identify common features and differentiate between the menu items available from HPE Intelligent Provisioning Always ON and from F10. You should also be able to identify the functions of the First-Time Setup Wizard and perform common tasks for maintaining and updating the server using HPE Intelligent Provisioning to access diagnostics and logs for troubleshooting.

Course 7: HPE UEFI ROM Foundation

Description : This course introduces you to the foundation and advanced concepts of HPE UEFI ROM for HPE ProLiant Compute servers and HPE Synergy. This course also includes a guided simulation and video demo to practice and explore UEFI System Utilities & UEFI Shell options.


Objectives : After completing this course, you should be able to identify the key features and functionality of the UEFI System Utilities and UEFI Shell and explain the architecture and functional flows of the product. You should also be able to use and configure UEFI System Utilities and troubleshoot issues with the UEFI ROM-based HPE ProLiant Compute and HPE Synergy hardware.

Description : This course covers HPE OneView management features for HPE ProLiant DL/ML servers with a focus on HPE OneView functionality. Animated demos and hands-on practice labs in a simulated HPE OneView environment are included to help you better understand and retain HPE OneView knowledge. During the course, you learn how to deploy, configure, and use HPE OneView to manage HPE ProLiant DL/ML servers and storage components. In addition, you find out how to use the HPE OneView Global Dashboard to monitor resources from several HPE OneView management instances.


Objectives : After completing this course, you should be able to describe HPE OneView features and integration points, explain management features available for HPE ProLiant Compute servers, and use the HPE OneView Global Dashboard to view devices managed and monitored by multiple HPE OneView appliances.
