HPE Aruba Networking Intelligent Operations Readiness Service

  • 1. SERVICE OVERVIEW

    HPE Aruba Networking Intelligent Operations Readiness Service (“Service” or “Services”) provides customers with a network readiness assessment designed to ensure that the network comprising HPE Aruba Networking Systems and/or Service Packs (“Devices”) is optimized for managing and operating the network under the Intelligent Operations for HPE GreenLake for Networking (“IO”), Day 2 service.


    The Services focus is to review, analyze, and assess HPE Aruba Networking network devices for IO. The results of the Services are delivered in the findings report with results and recommended remediation of the network to enter network operations environment. The key benefits for the customer of this Service are:

    • Faster time to value through quicker network deployment into production by reducing operations transition time
    • Helps reduce cost by proactively performing network operations validation to avoid reconfiguration while taking remediation actions early
    • Helps improve network quality to meet business objectives by delivering on Service Level Objectives (SLO)
  • 2. SERVICE FEATURES

1. Core Elements

Service Planning Phase

An HPE Aruba Networking technical consultant will conduct service planning meetings with the customer and share service delivery requirements and prerequisites.


HPE Aruba Networking will provide the customer with a service plan and schedule for the delivery. The customer must complete a network readiness questionnaire before the service starts.


Specific activities during this phase comprise:

  • Review the existing customer network policy and operations documentation including, but not limited to, current network architecture, principles, objectives and security policies
  • Review current “in-flight” and future projects
  • Identify the customer points of contact for enabling network access at the customer location
  • Identify any additional information required to allow HPE Aruba Networking to deploy resources and begin service delivery

Specific deliverables from this phase include:

  • Customer-completed network readiness questionnaire
  • Documented project plan and schedule

Service Setup Phase

An HPE Aruba Networking technical consultant will prepare and set up the necessary HPE Aruba Networking management and orchestration tools to perform the service.


An HPE Aruba Networking consultant will work with the customer’s point of contact(s) to review and update the Site Acceptance Checklist (“SAC”). SAC contains the list of network readiness checks that would be executed in read-only mode.


Specific activities during this phase comprise:

  • Review and update of the SAC
  • Review the list of pre-installation requirements including providing provisioning instructions for any tools that are required for SAC
  • Validate access requirements to the network to execute SAC
  • Prepare HPE Aruba Networking management and orchestration tools

Specific deliverables from this phase include:

  • Reviewed and updated SAC
  • Validated access to the network to execute SAC
  • Setup HPE Aruba Networking management and orchestration tools with access to the network devices that are being transitioned to IO service

Service Execution Phase

This phase includes execution of the SAC for the devices that are going to be managed and operated by HPE Aruba Networking.


Specific activities during this phase comprise:

  • Execute the updated SAC
  • Review results of the executed SAC
  • Rerun SAC for failed use cases and update results for final review

Specific deliverable from this phase includes:

  • Final result of the executed SAC which includes findings of network operating system, configuration, consistency, connectivity, resiliency, access/authorization requirements, SLO achievability.

Recommended Remediation Phase

In this phase, an HPE Aruba Networking technical consultant will prepare for final readout and if applicable provide recommended remediation steps.


Specific activities during this phase comprise:

  • Setup remotely hosted advisory workshop
  • Presentation of the findings and discussion of final results of the SAC

Specific deliverable from this phase includes:

  • Recommended remediation presentation document that aligns to operations supportability
  • 3. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES & GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. Support Systems

The customer will:

  • Complete a network readiness questionnaire prior to the service setup phase
  • Ensure that all deliverables identified before the service execution phase have been met
  • Provide remote access to the in-scope network infrastructure and customer’s instance of HPE Aruba Networking management and orchestration tools
  • Be responsible for all current-state and future-state network and security architecture, designs, implementations, and integration projects within the network environment
  • Assign stakeholders to participate in planning and subsequent phases of the service deliverables
  • Provide the current network architecture, standards, and detailed design documentation as per the SAC requirements that comprise, but is not limited to:
    • Project plans and schedules
    • Network topology diagrams
    • Rack placement diagrams
    • Cable maps (device and end station cable numbers, patch panel designation and port numbers, device port numbers, and VLAN information)
    • High Level Design document and Low-Level Design document that contains IP address maps
    • Network environment administrative and management parameters, along with variables (hostname, administration, users, authorization, administrative IP address, management passwords, SNMP, NTP, DNS server addresses, DHCP, and logging)
    • Current-state information for Spanning Tree, Layer 2 protection mechanism, link aggregation, and advanced VLAN configuration
    • Migration documentation from the customer’s existing network infrastructure equipment
    • Integration specifications and documentation for any non-HPE Aruba Networking and/or third-party equipment
    • SSID-to-VLAN mapping
    • Network security, network access control, and policy management
    • LDAP or RADIUS server to facilitate WLAN security where required
  • Assist HPE Aruba Networking with determining and documenting the parameters and variables required to execute the SAC
  • Make any modifications to the existing network that are required and identified during the planning stages of this Service, prior to HPE Aruba Networking delivering remote readiness check tasks
  • Be accountable for all existing and new cabling required
  • Be responsible for any notifications to network operations and any change control documentation that must be completed
  • Be responsible for end-user and/or application testing
  • Be accountable for providing a final signoff and acceptance from a designated authority in writing within three business days after the submission of final reports
  • Install customer-installable firmware updates and patches
  • Be responsible for all data backup and restore operations
  • Designate a person from the customer’s staff who will grant all approvals; provide information; ensure that all hardware, firmware, and software that the HPE Aruba Networking service specialist(s) will need to deliver this Service are available and that software products are properly licensed; and be available to assist HPE Aruba Networking in facilitating the delivery of this Service
  • Adhere to licensing terms and conditions regarding the use of any HPE Aruba Networking service tools used to facilitate the delivery of this Service, if applicable
  • Perform other reasonable activities to help HPE Aruba Networking identify or report problems, as requested by HPE Aruba Networking
  • Allow HPE Aruba Networking all necessary remote network access to all locations where the Service is to be performed
  • Be responsible for any remediation or modifications recommended as a result of the Service

2. General Provisions and other exclusions

The customer acknowledges the following:

  • To the extent HPE Aruba Networking and/or authorized partners processes personal data on the customer’s behalf in the course of providing services, the HPE Data Privacy and Security Agreement Schedule found at https://www.hpe.com/us/en/legal/customer-privacy.html shall apply.
  • This Service, if provided as a standalone service, is governed by HPE Professional Services Only Terms (CTPS01) terms available at https://www.hpe.com/us/en/about/end-user-agreement-terms.html unless subject to a separate agreement between the customer and HPE. If the Service is provided as part of a GreenLake solution the HPE aaS Terms for Customers and HPE aaS Commercial Terms available at https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a50009054enw and https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a50009055enw?jumpid=in_ResourceLibrary shall apply.
  • There is no transfer of ownership of any intellectual property as part of this service.
  • Upon receipt of an acceptable order, HPE Aruba Networking will contact the customer within seven (7) business days to organize service delivery. HPE Aruba Networking may require up to 30 days to organize resources and begin work.
  • Services are restricted to a single IT environment location under the direct day-to-day management and cooperation of one customer-designated primary contact in one country.
  • Services must be utilized by the customer within 120 days of the date of purchase.
  • HPE Aruba Networking's ability to deliver this Service is dependent upon the customer’s full and timely cooperation with HPE Aruba Networking, as well as the accuracy and completeness of any information and data the customer provides to HPE Aruba Networking.
  • 4. SERVICE UPDATE NOTIFICATIONS

    HPE may update or alter the features and functionality of this Service. Customers will receive notifications about updates and changes through the customer’s assigned account team.

  • 5. SERVICE LIMITATIONS

1. Service Limitations

  • The service includes remote assessment and analysis of included network components, followed by a remotely delivered advisory workshop to review findings, configurations, and designs. However, if onsite resources are required additional charges may apply. This service is per country for one or more deployed network sites.
  • The HPE Aruba Networking Intelligent Operations Readiness Service does not include remediation activities and based on the findings, customer has an option to separately engage HPE Aruba Networking Professional Service team to design and re-configure the network.
  • HPE Aruba Networking will not assess, or report on any equipment that is not specifically included in the HPE Aruba Networking Intelligent Operations Readiness Service.
  • The HPE Aruba Networking Intelligent Operations Readiness Service is designed for HPE Aruba Networking products only. All non-HPE Aruba products are excluded from this Service.
  • Services are delivered in English only.
  • HPE Aruba Networking may use resources outside the country of purchase for delivery of this service.

2. Out of Scope

The Service does not comprise procuring, installing, and configuration of network hardware or software. Neither HPE Aruba Networking Foundational Care, nor related support services for the HPE Aruba Networking products currently deployed within the customer’s facilities, are included as part of the service and out of scope. The customer is responsible for retaining an adequate level of support for the HPE Aruba Networking products, and HPE Aruba Networking is not responsible in any way for potential or actual network issues resulting from the lack of support services.
