Addendum — HPE for Microsoft Windows Server support

Service overview

This addendum to the HPE Tech Care Service data sheet describes the HPE for Microsoft Windows Server support, and HPE supported Microsoft software products support. This service provides remote standard 24x7 support for technical problems.


Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers two service levels for the HPE for Microsoft Windows Server support service — the HPE Tech Care Service (standard) and the HPE Complete Care Service (optional).


Both service levels cover Microsoft Windows Server, and HPE supported Microsoft software only. For both service levels, the Customer’s point of contact is the HPE Services support worldwide, and HPE will contact Microsoft support for further assistance as needed.


A mutually agreed-upon statement of work (SOW) will be implemented for the optional service level.

    • Provides consolidated support for Microsoft Windows Server OEM software and on-premises hardware
    • Manages troubleshooting and resolution
    • Is optionally sold with the Windows Server OEM software license for a new server order, or it can be sold as part of a service contract
    • Is included within the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform

Remote support service levels based on HPE Tech Care Service (Essential), including 15-minute call back for severity 1 incidents; 1 hour for severity 2 and 3; and where available, direct phone access to product specialists without needing a call back (all severities).   • Coverage

    • The service described in this Addendum includes HPE for Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft software-supported products. The list of supported Windows Server OEM operating systems can be found here: hpe.com/psnow/doc/4aa4-9999enw
  • Prerequisites

    • Customers must have an active HPE Tech Care Service support contract to be eligible for the support service described in this addendum. All other service characteristics remain defined by the HPE Tech Care Service data sheet .
  • Customer responsibilities

    In addition to those outlined in the HPE Tech Care Service data sheet , the Customers are responsible for the following:

    The Customer must maintain a supportable software configuration

  • Service limitations

    • Customer acknowledges and agrees that HPE may use resources outside the country of purchase deliver these services unless otherwise specified as part of a service feature description
    • Support provided for the HPE for Windows Server OEM operating system licenses must be within the support life period for the associated Microsoft products
    • Customer receives software updates from Microsoft, not HPE
    • Services do not include network design, consulting, integration, or configuration services
    • HPE is not responsible for the performance or nonperformance of third-party vendors, their products, or their support services
    • Services required due to failure of the Customer to take avoidance action previously advised by HPE
    • This addendum only covers Microsoft Windows Server and HPE supported Microsoft software. There is no hardware support included
    • Any services not clearly specified in this document is not included
  • Service eligibility

    In addition to those outlined in the HPE Tech Care Service data sheet , the Customers are responsible for the following:

    Customer is required to have the expertise to operate Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft software products in a self-sufficient manner

  • General provisions

    • Any documentation provided as part of the service will be provided in Microsoft Office format
    • HPE response time is dependent upon the Customer’s compliance with required prerequisites and participation
  • Ordering information

    The HPE for Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft software products support SKUs are sold separately from the HPE for Windows Server OEM operating system licenses. This service can be optionally sold with the HPE for Windows Server OEM software license for a new server order, or it can be sold as part of a service contract.


    The support SKUs are purchased based on the Microsoft Windows Server OEM license type: Essential, Standard, or Datacenter.
