Module 1: Cluster Components

  • Introduction to HPE PCM, terms, concepts, terminologies and all the basics of cluster components

Module 2: HPE PCM GUI Configure

  • In this module you till be introduced to the HPE PCM Graphical User Interface – the HPE PCM GUI – to manage the cluster.

Module 3: OS Boot Modes Root Fle System Modes

  • This module uses the cm node show and cm node set commands, which provide online help with the -h option and with cm-node-show and cm-node-set manpages. The manpage title for the cm CLI uses hyphenated titles. The hyphenated manpage titles are listed in the cm manpage.

Module 4: Cluster Commands to Gather Information

  • Topics Covered:
    • Parallel Distributed Shell -pdsh.
    • Gather information from Cluster Nodes
    • Cluster Health Check and Alerts
    • Search Centralized system log files
    • Products from ISVs and Opensource community
    • Power Measurement and Limiting

Module 5: CLI Poer Management

  • Use the command-line interface (CLI) to power on, power off, check status, and halt the operating system of cluster components. In the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPC) Performance Cluster Manager (HPE PCM) graphical user interface (GUI) module, when you select a node or group of nodes and right click, you get a context sensitive set of options that can include power options.

Module 6: CLI Console

  • Conserver is a service that enables you to connect to node consoles by using the command line interface (CLI) console command. The conserver service also logs node console output. The console command provides a set of key sequences that enable you to attach to a console session, detach from a console session, log into a node, and run commands. This module will review how the console command and the conserver server support cluster administration.

Module 7: Back up Cluster Configuration

  • This module includes saving or backing up a cluster configuration file, backing up the cluster database, backing up and querying the Ethernet management switch configuration, and backing up the system admin node with your house solution. Additionally, a brief look at the data generated. The cluster configuration file is also called the cluster definition file and the configfile.

Module 8: Resources

  • A list of job-aids, and links to more information used in this course.
