    Commvault Enterprise Elite Success Support Account / Technical Account Manager (SAM /TAM) Roles

    The Elite Success Tier is a joint collaboration with the Success Account Manager (SAM) and Technical Account Manager (TAM). The following are the roles and responsibilities for each under the ESP to ensure continued success:

    Success Account Manager (SAM) Role: The SAM works to ensure Service Level Objective success, provide reporting, and manage escalation and critical care instances.


    • – Single point of contact owning the overall support experience
    • – Communicate proactive monitoring metrics to customer, including if thresholds met or exceeded and the potential impact on the business
    • – Overall management of support status – includes all tickets and metrics associated with ticket history
    • – Deliver Quarterly Business Reviews – metrics/business reviews
    • – Working with the customer to understand the business requirements and stated Service Level Objectives (Reviewed for both Commvault and customer’s internal SLOs to ensure they are achievable metrics for success)
    • – Generation and Review of support ticket history and analysis during the Quarterly Business Reviews
    • – Business Reviews – Executive and/or Technical. Work with TAM on strategic agenda
    • – Work closely with the TAM for any onsite technical requirements/assistance
    • – Work closely with the TAM to identify training opportunities for customer personnel

    Technical Account Manager (TAM) Role: The Elite Success Tier includes assignment of a TAM (20% percent coverage) to partner with our customers to understand the customer’s business objectives. The TAM provides proactive and reactive guidance to mitigate risk and reduce time to resolution by aligning key technologies and resources to those objectives.


    • – Fulfill the role of “voice of the customer” in Commvault meetings, and the technical “voice of Commvault” in customer meetings (ongoing)
    • – Identify risks in the environment as it relates to data management operations
    • – Help executing the technical business plan in accordance with customer policies and procedures

    Metallic Customer Support SLAs response targets to cases under the Metallic offering will be based on the assigned priority level, ranging from Critical priority (1 hour response target) to Low priority (24 hour response target). Warranty

With the exception of products provided for beta, demonstration, test or evaluation purposes or that is labeled “Not for Resale”, Commvault warrants that the products licensed hereunder shall be new and shall operate substantially in accordance with its user documentation for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of shipment by Commvault or its licensors (hereinafter the "Warranty Period"). If, during the Warranty Period, any product is defective, Commvault’s sole liability, and the customer’s sole remedy, shall be, at Commvault’s option, (i) repair or replacement of the product which does not comply with this warranty, or (ii) return of the amount paid for the product which does not comply with the warranty.

Commvault HyperScale™ X Software can be acquired either as perpetual or as subscription licensing. However, rather than being licensed on usable capacity, new Commvault HyperScale™ X Software is licensed per node based on the physical data drive count in the storage server.


Commvault HyperScale™ X Software is installed initially as a three-node solution with capacity added in single node or multi-node increments. Adding nodes to an existing deployment requires additional per node licensing in the same increments. Commvault HyperScale™ X Software per node licensing is consistent regardless of drive size used in the node.

Step 24a – HPE Server Configuration for HyperScale™ X

The recommended 4-drive HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 based server configuration has been set up (with validated default options), as a pre-defined menu, in OCA, led by SKU S6L30A under Storage > HPE Complete Solutions.


If the pre-defined configuration above does not meet the customer use case, the HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 based server configurations should be built via the HPE ordering (OCA) tool, using the BoM guidelines for Commvault HyperScale X validated 4-drive HPE server configurations, provided in this document:
