Overview
This course provides you with the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) 5. It introduces key features including security, scripting tools, and HPE iLO Federation. In the course, you learn how to navigate through the web interface, get an introduction to the ecosystem in which HPE iLO 5 plays a central role, and examine and then practice more advanced tasks to secure your server. It also demonstrates how to distinguish between license choices and employ best practices for setting up roles and security. You have access to the HPE iLO 5 Simulator for hands-on practice.

After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Identify the features and benefits of HPE iLO
- Differentiate the features of HPE iLO 5 versions beginning with version 1.xx to the current version
- Differentiate between types of licenses
- Identify the key benefits of the Silicon Root of Trust
- Determine the best topology while connecting HPE iLO 5 to a network to ensure optimal efficiency
- Paraphrase the two ways the license key can be applied in the HPE iLO 5 web interface.
- Describe the advanced license features of HPE iLO 5 such as HPE iLO Integrated Remote Console and HPE iLO Virtual Media
- List the tasks you can complete with HPE iLO 5 from the power and thermal menu
- List the steps required to upgrade the firmware of HPE ProLiant Compute Gen 10 and Gen 10 plus servers
- Differentiate between types of server updates and select the phases of the workflow to perform an update using Smart Update Manager (SUM)
- Troubleshoot common issues that might occur if an update fails
- Identify the layers of security access settings for malware prevention, data encryption, and to securely update the firmware
- Identify the hardware-based security features
- Select the purpose of agentless management and its services and SNMP
- Enable IPMI
- Set up SNMP alerts
- Identify the features of HPE OneView and HPE Onboard Administrator
- List the steps to configure Kerberos authentication
- Identify the features of HPE iLO Federation such as multicast discovery, peer-to-peer communication, etc.
- Recall the HPE iLO Federation setup page in the HPE iLO5 web interface
- Recall the troubleshooting steps to take if you encounter any issues with the server operation
- Identify the remote support features available with a warranty and contractual support agreement
- Select the description of the usage and benefits of the HPE iLO service port
