Integrating Veeam with HPE Storage Solutions

Overview
This course covers Veeam® Backup and Replication software in the context of integration with HPE Alletra Storage, HPE Primera, HPE Nimble, and HPE StoreOnce products. It includes an introduction and review of Veeam, HPE Alletra Storage, HPE Primera, HPE Nimble, and HPE StoreOnce concepts that are important to know before working on Veeam integration with HPE products. It also covers theory and features available in Veeam when combined with HPE products, including network-attached storage (NAS) and HPE StoreOnce Catalyst integration; local and remote copy integrations; backup and recovery flow; verification; and best practices. The course includes hands-on labs using Veeam with HPE Alletra Storage, HPE Primera, and HPE Nimble storage arrays and HPE StoreOnce backup appliances.
Note: This course has two components and provides different learning options than an instructor-led course:
- eLearning course
- You have one year of access to the eLearning portion of the training so that you may repeat sections for reinforcement. Take this training at your own pace and on your own schedule.
- Hands-on practice through HPE Virtual Labs (HPE vLabs)
- You have two consecutive days of access to HPE vLabs to run the labs associated with this course.

Before attending this course, we recommend that you have the following:
- Basic VMware® vSphere® administration experience
- Basic understanding of iSCSI, fibre channel, backup, and SAN technologies
- Basic knowledge of Veeam
- Basic knowledge of at least one of the following:
- HPE Alletra Storage
- HPE Primera
- HPE Nimble
- HPE StoreOnce

- Describe the core components of Veeam
- Describe local and remote replication features of HPE Primera, HPE Alletra Storage, and HPE Nimble arrays
- Explain Veeam integration with HPE Storage arrays (HPE Primera, HPE Alletra Storage, and HPE Nimble), including advantages
- Describe HPE StoreOnce basics
- List types of HPE StoreOnce backup targets—VTL, NAS, and HPE StoreOnce Catalyst
- Discuss deduplication technology
- Explain VTL and NAS replication and HPE StoreOnce Catalyst copy
- Plan, configure, and perform Veeam Backup and Recovery by using HPE Storage and backup products
- Configure backup replication (local and remote)
