What are the cooling capacities of HPE liquid-cooled systems?
HPE cooling systems come in wide range of capacities, depending upon the system. Liquid-to-air cooling systems can be sized up to 50kW per rack with RDHX or up to 150kW across 4 racks with HPE ARCS. Hybrid DLC systems for HPE ProLiant and ProLiant XD can support 200kW and higher, while fanless liquid cooled systems have the capacity of 400kW.
Which compute systems can use liquid cooling?
Most air-based compute, storage, and networking systems can be used in liquid-to-air cooled systems like HPE RDHX and ARCS. Nearly all of the HPE ProLiant and ProLiant XD systems can be configured for cold-plate hybrid DLC. HPE Cray Supercomputing EX and GX utilize fanless DLC. HPE rack-scale systems from AMD and NVIDIA utilize liquid-to-air and hybrid DLC.
Which components are cooled with liquid cooling?
For liquid-to-air cooling, liquid cools the air so that most air-cooled systems can be used. In hybrid DLC, typically GPU and CPU are cooled; sometimes memory, too. Hybrid DLC optimizes efficiency, serviceability, and system configuration flexibility. Fanless DLC cools GPU, CPU, memory, onboard storage, fabric, and power.
What are the water temperature ranges that can be used with HPE liquid cooling systems?
Liquid-to-air cooling can handle temperatures as high as 25°C in RDHX or 32°C for HPE ARCS, depending on flows and coolant temperature. Hybrid DLC and fanless DLC can utilize coolant as high as 40°C and in some cases higher, depending upon configuration and facilities.
What is most important when deploying liquid cooling?
AI and HPC capabilities must be matched with both the type of liquid cooling and facilities available. Having data center design, deployment capabilities, and integration services from HPE can greatly reduce time to successful operation.
Can I get systems pre-configured, tested?
