A Cray Service Video is available that shows how to assemble and use the lift to remove and install a CS-Storm server.
The CS-Storm server can weigh up to 88 lb (40 kg). A server lift is required to remove CS-Storm servers from a rack.
A vertical lift platform shown below is available to install CS-Storm servers vertically when using the vertical-mount conversion kit.Figure: CS-Storm Vertical Lift Platform
Rotate the server on the work surface so that the server handles are near the edge of the work surface facing out.
Position the lift in front of the work surface and set the brake.
Rotate the winch handle to adjust the carriage so that the forks are positioned at the same height as the work surface
Carefully slide the server off the work surface and onto the lift platform.

Rotate the winch to adjust the height of the platform to waist-level.
Warning:
Serious injury or equipment damage.
Tip-over hazard. CS-Storm servers can weigh up to 88 lb (40 kg). Always adjust the height of the platform to waist-level and center the server on the platform before moving the lift. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or equipment damage.
Position the lift in front of the rack and set the brake.
If installing a server near the top of the rack, release the two pins that secure the ladder to the rack and extend the ladder.
Remove the 2U blank filler panel.
Important: Install the server soon after removing the blank filler panel from the rack. Failure to do so can disrupt airflow and overheat other components in the rack.
Rotate the winch handle to position the server at the same height as the rack opening.
Check the alignment of the lift platform with the server. If necessary, release the brake and reposition the lift or adjust the lift height to align the server with the rack opening during 12.

Optional: If the server is located near the top of the rack, climb the ladder to reach the server.
Carefully slide the server off the platform and into the 2U opening in the rack until the front panel is flush with the rack rails.
Optional: If necessary, return the ladder to the stowed position and secure it in place.
Release the brake, and slowly move the lift away from the rack. Do not allow the lift to come into contact with other objects.
Install the bottom 2 screws to secure the blade to the front of the rack.
Connect all Ethernet, InfiniBand (IB), or other I/O cables at the rear of the server.
Connect the power cables at the rear of the server.
Use the ACE® or IPMI commands, or press the power button in front of chassis to power on the server.
