Install a RAID Card

Replace a RAID card in a CS-Storm chassis.

  • Server Location: The server is removed from the rack, placed on a stable ESD-safe work surface, and the cover is removed.

The slot 4 flex-foil cable supports a PCI Gen3 x16 slot. RAID cards can be installed in this slot and cabled to the hard disk backplanes to support different RAID configurations.

  1. Install the RAID card in the slot 4 PCI riser slot.

  2. Install one screw to secure the slot 4 RAID card to the rear panel.
  3. Optional: If cabling the RAID card to the hard drive backplanes, remove the hard drive EMI shield.

  4. Connect the SATA cables from the RAID card to the hard disk backplanes as shown.

  5. Install the server's top cover.
