How will HPE Morpheus Enterprise be licensed?
HPE Morpheus Enterprise is licensed on a per socket basis. This will include all HPE Morpheus Enterprise functionality including the built-in KVM and K8s cluster types. Worldwide reference list price is USD $2500 per socket per year. The socket license counts against any hosts attached to the HPE Morpheus Enterprise installation including bare metal hosts or hypervisor hosts in private clouds.
How do public cloud services get licensed?
Because public clouds are shared and do not consume a physical socket in the same way as private infrastructure, 15 public cloud instances will equate to a single socket license. Case in point: in a customer has 150 VMs running on public cloud, they will need 10 sockets of HPE Morpheus Enterprise.
Will HPE Morpheus Enterprise include HPE’s KVM-based hypervisor?
Yes. Just like HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, HPE Morpheus Enterprise also includes the HVM cluster type based on KVM. HPE Morpheus VM Essentials only includes a limited subset of these features, whereas HPE Morpheus Enterprise can add templates and blueprints, policy guardrails, costing features, additional private and public cloud support, and more.
Will HPE Morpheus Enterprise be available through GreenLake Flex contracts?
Yes. HPE Morpheus Enterprise is available as term-based software for 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year terms. Those software SKUs can be included as a 100% commitment within an GreenLake Flex contract. The HPE Morpheus Enterprise Software stack with an HPE Morpheus VM Essentials cluster type can also be included in an GreenLake Flex solutions contract, but note that specific limitations on the contract mix may apply based on a company’s specific requirements.
