Service overview

HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA® provides factory build and integration services for your eligible HPE Solution for SAP HANA in accordance with ISO 9000:2000 quality standards. See the “Service eligibility” section of this data sheet for more information regarding eligible HPE infrastructure for SAP HANA. In addition, in order to be eligible for these services, you must also purchase HPE Hardware Installation Services as these are complementary services designed to coordinate the integration tasks described in this data sheet along with HPE installation services. Hewlett Packard Enterprise builds and configures your HPE Solution for SAP HANA to your specifications and performs testing prior to shipment of your system leveraging skilled HPE resources and expertise. HPE performs these integration activities in regional HPE factories, delivering a solution that is preconfigured and tested to help shorten your deployment cycles. The HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA and HPE installation services must be ordered with your HPE and SAP HANA product purchase and apply only to the eligible products on your order.


An HPE Integration Center project manager oversees the implementation of this service engagement, with activities that include overall service planning, logistical coordination, and technical planning meeting facilitation with your organization to prepare for solution deployment in your facility as more fully described later in the document

    For your newly purchased HPE Solution for SAP HANA, the HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA provides the following features:

    • The HPE Integration Center builds and configures the HPE Solution for SAP HANA to your specifications as identified in your Customer Intent Document (CID)
    • Selection, installation, and validation of tested HPE firmware and HPE software versions based on CID requirements
    • Installation and configuration of purchased eligible operating system (OS) and SAP HANA software based on CID requirements
    • Operational testing of SAP HANA to validate database startup functionality using HPE standard testing procedures
    • Assignment of a remote HPE Integration Center project manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the tasks described later in the document. This project manager will also provide remote assistance for your separately purchased on-site installation activities and, if applicable, HPE Rapid Deployment Services

Factory integration

The HPE Integration Center builds and configures the eligible HPE Solution for SAP HANA to Customer specifications as identified in the CID specifically as follows:

  • Based on Customer’s product purchase, HPE solution components are assembled, racked, and cabled. Cables are labeled for identification
  • Software is installed and configured per the mutually agreed HPE CID, and in accordance with the software vendor’s product documentation. Software eligible for installation is limited to the following: SUSE® Linux® Enterprise Server for SAP® and/or Red Hat® Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions, and SAP HANA. HPE will only install the Linux OS and SAP HANA software if the hardware configuration includes both server and storage devices. Otherwise, HPE is under no obligation to install these products
  • Configuration of hostnames, credentials, and Internet Protocol addresses (IPs) as documented in Customer CID
  • Startup of the eligible SAP HANA software to validate that it is operational using HPE standard startup testing procedures based on CID configuration parameters
  • At the time of shipment, and based on the Customer order, HPE will provide the HPE Solution for SAP HANA–level documentation in electronic format, which provides the bill of materials, CID output, software license information, and cabling diagram for the HPE installed cabling as noted earlier.

End-to-end project management

An HPE Integration Center project manager remotely oversees the following factory integration activities:

  • Review and validation of the information Customer supplied for build parameters as documented in their completed CID
  • Upon completion of the integration activities as described earlier, the HPE Integration Center project manager coordinates with the HPE authorized technical specialist performing the on-site installation to help facilitate the installation process
  • If the HPE Rapid Deployment Service for SAP HANA is purchased, the HPE Integration Center project manager will coordinate on-site deployment activities with the HPE Rapid Deployment project manager to help facilitate the deployment process
  • Customer responsibilities

    In addition to any Customer responsibilities detailed herein, the following additional responsibilities apply:

    • These services must be ordered on the same order as Customer’s eligible SAP HANA product purchase with HPE; services are only provided for the eligible products on Customer order.
    • Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate CID to HPE as well as validating this information with the HPE Integration Center project manager in a timely manner as described in this data sheet. Prior to placing Customer order with HPE, HPE will provide a CID template, in electronic format. Customer must fully complete the CID form by providing accurate and complete technical specifications and/or configuration information requested in the form and provide the completed CID to HPE at the time of Customer order placement with HPE.
    • Any delays in providing a complete and accurate CID at the time of order placement or validating this information with the HPE Integration Center project manager will result in the delay of the factory build and custom configuration of Customer solution.
    • Designate a person from Customer staff with the appropriate skills and knowledge as a technical contact who, on behalf of the Customer, will grant all approvals, provide information requested by HPE resources in a timely manner, and otherwise be available to assist HPE in facilitating the delivery of this service; the name and phone number of this person should be referenced in the completed CID provided to HPE.
    • Customer must purchase all hardware and OSs, in the same order as noted earlier, that are eligible for this HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA. Eligible OSs include SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions software products.
    • HPE will install a temporary SAP HANA license key with a grace period valid for 90 days.
    • For HPE solutions that include Brocade equipment, grant HPE the authority to accept the HPE and Brocade Fabric Operating System (FOS) End-User License Agreement (EULA) on Customer’s behalf for the purpose of installing the recommended and tested Brocade FOS version as part of the HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA.   • Service limitations

    This service is available during local HPE standard business days and hours, excluding HPE holidays, unless otherwise agreed by HPE. Any services provided outside of HPE standard business hours may be subject to additional charges.


    All HPE activities including documents and facilitation are delivered in English. Activities such as, but not limited to, the following are excluded from this service:

    • Reracking or reconfiguration of any services that have been performed by the HPE Integration Center.
    • Hardware installation at Customer site. HPE Installation Services must be purchased separately.
    • Deployment of the HPE Solution for SAP HANA into Customer data center network environment. HPE offers the HPE Rapid Deployment Service for SAP HANA for separate purchases.
    • Any services provided to configure or reconfigure the HPE Solution for SAP HANA at Customer site including any hardware, software, credentials, and IPs that could not be preconfigured in the factory because of an incomplete or inaccurate CID. HPE assistance for these services may be subject to additional charges.
    • Planning, design, reconfiguration, implementation, or assessment of the Customer’s existing LAN, WAN, or SAN environment. These services are available from HPE and must be purchased separately.
    • Troubleshooting for interconnectivity of HPE Solution for SAP HANA with preexisting systems in Customer environment.
    • Application integration, integration of any third-party products or peripherals or ineligible product operational testing of applications, or additional tests requested or required by you.
    • Backup, recovery, and support of the operating system, other software, and data or any restoration/recovery of compromised data.
    • Any additional Customer-defined usability, performance, operational, or validation tests. HPE offers these services, and they must be purchased separately.
  • Service eligibility

    HPE Hardware Installation Services for the on-site hardware installation of the HPE Solution for SAP HANA are required with this service and must be purchased separately.


    HPE infrastructure for SAP HANA solutions eligible for this service are listed on the HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA supported products list (SPL) available at hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00069835enw?from=app§ion=search&isFutureVersion=true.


    In addition to the previously mentioned eligible HPE infrastructure listing, only SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions software are eligible for this service.

  • General provisions / other exclusions

    Customer acknowledges and agrees that HPE may use resources outside the country of purchase for delivery of these services unless otherwise specified as part of a service feature description.


    HPE’s ability to deliver this service is dependent upon Customer’s full and timely cooperation with HPE, as well as the accuracy and completeness of any information and data Customer provides to HPE.


    To the extent HPE process personal data on the Customer’s behalf in the course of providing services, the HPE Data Privacy and Security Agreement Schedule — HPE Support and Professional Services found at hpe.com/us/en/legal/customer-privacy.html shall apply.


    HPE reserves the right to reprice this service if you do not schedule and provide for subsequent delivery within 90 days of purchase.


    HPE reserves the right to charge, on a time-and-materials basis, for any additional work over and above the service package pricing that may result from work required to address service prerequisites or other requirements that are not met by the Customer.

  • Supplemental terms

    The following supplemental terms apply to these services and take precedence in the event of any conflict:

    • Upon receipt of an acceptable order, HPE will contact the Customer within seven (7) business days to organize a service delivery date. Service delivery dates are subject to resource availability and may be scheduled up to 30 days from the order acceptance date.
    • The Customer must schedule and receive delivery of these services within 180 days from order acceptance. HPE reserves the right to reprice for services not scheduled and delivered within 180 days. Backorders or shipment delays may affect the delivery timeline. Orders for services will expire after 365 days (one year) from the order acceptance date for services not scheduled and delivered, and the Customer will not be entitled to a refund for the unused services.
  • Ordering information

    The HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA is orderable with eligible HPE infrastructure for SAP HANA as listed on the HPE Factory Express Integration Service for SAP HANA SPL and eligible software as specified in the “Service eligibility” section of this data sheet. For each eligible HPE infrastructure for SAP HANA Solution, there is an associated set of HPE Factory Express Integration for SAP HANA Service SKUs to be ordered as identified in the SPL.
