Everything you need to deploy private 5G

Traditionally, private 5G networks have relied on components from up to seven vendors. HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G is an all-inclusive offering consisting of indoor/outdoor small cell radios, a 4G/5G mobile core, a hardware appliance, SIM/eSIMs, and cloud management. For specialized use cases, enterprises and service providers can leverage the HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G Mobile Core to build highly flexible solutions.

End-to-end solution

An all-in-one private 5G solution with simplified purchasing, implementation, management, and support, all from a single vendor. For enterprises in the US, a Spectrum Access System is also included to support use of shared CBRS spectrum.

Enterprise simplicity

Configuration automation and zero touch provisioning enables network administrators to set up and manage their private 5G network without extensive training—in the same way they manage Wi‑Fi.

Proven, mature technology

Our solution leverages 4G/5G mobile core technology from Athonet, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise acquisition, which has been deployed by more than 500 enterprises and 25 service providers globally. Customers who need specialized radio access networks or fully on-prem solutions can work with service providers to deploy a more tailored solution.

Why enterprises are adopting private 5G

There are multiple drivers behind the growing interest in private 5G, and enterprise adoption is growing rapidly across a wide range of industries and use cases.

Wider area coverage, especially outdoors

Covering large areas such as outdoor venues, transportation hubs, and large warehouses can be a challenge. With higher power limits and higher radio receiver sensitivity, each private 5G small cell can cover more area, lowering cabling costs and making it easier to connect hard-to-reach areas.

High-speed mobility

Industry 4.0 demands high-speed mobility to avoid costly work stoppages. With private 5G, handoff decisions are controlled by the network and benefit from wider area coverage that requires fewer handoffs, making it ideal for autonomous vehicles and robotics.

Segmentation of mission-critical traffic

Mission-critical applications may require a separate network that operates alongside existing Wi‑Fi, especially in noisy RF environments. With a “better together” approach, private 5G can handle revenue-generating applications like mobile ticket scanning in a public venue while Wi‑Fi is reserved for guests.

Coverage in challenging RF environments

Environments with many obstacles or oddly shaped, reflective surfaces can cause problems for Wi‑Fi. Private 5G provides additional clean spectrum that can be allocated for mission-critical applications.
