Procedure to collect support files manually
As needed, system administrations can manually start system data collection and create support files. Unlike the automatic collection process, the manual data collection operation can be canceled.
To manually collect support files into a support bundle:
- Navigate to the Support tab.
The Support Files screen displays.
- Click the Collect support file button.
The Collect support file window opens and lists all nodes in the cluster.
- Specify the data collection parameters for the support file.
- Select the Time window (min) to look back for syslog data to be collected. The default is 45 minutes.
- Select the nodes for which data will be collected, by clicking the checkboxes for each node to be included.
To quickly select all nodes, click the checkbox labeled Hostname.
- Click the Collect button.
The data collection process starts, using the specified parameters. While collecting data, the status field will show the progress as Still collecting, xx% complete. When the process is complete, it will state Complete. To terminate the operation at any point, click Cancel.
When the operation is complete, the support bundle (tar-gzip file) is created.
