Definitions

Certified
The gold standard for features. HPE certifies that the feature is useful and is either integrated into the ClusterStor management stack and/or can be used directly from a supported user client. In addition, comprehensive design review and testing have completed and all serious issues have been addressed. Users can confidently deploy certified features in any production environment.
Available
Features that don't meet HPE's gold standard but are otherwise considered useful and generally safe to use. HPE will support use of the feature, but it may not be tightly integrated into the ClusterStor management stack, or its use may come with a small risk of serious defects.
Not Supported
Feature is not supported by HPE. Either the code isn't present or it has been actively disabled because risk of serious defects it too great to consider use or support.

  • HPE engineering has tested functionality (including at scale)
  • Feature functions/performs reliably, even under adverse failure conditions and edge cases
  • The feature is usable via the ClusterStor management stack and/or directly from a supported client
  • No known blocker or critical issues either from HPE or the community
  • HPE/Cray L1/L2 support will triage any CAST issues
  • HPE/Cray R&D will provide L3 support
Available
  • HPE has tested functionality and have found it to be safe to operate, including in production environments
  • The customer may need to take special care or appropriate mitigation steps for use in some circumstances
  • Known serious issues and risks will be described in release notes
  • HPE/Cray L1/L2 support will triage any CAST issues
  • HPE/Cray R&D will provide L3 support
Not SupportedThe feature will not function on the ClusterStor system for a variety of reasons:
  • The feature is incompatible with ClusterStor
  • The feature requires special integration that is not available in ClusterStor
  • The feature has serious defects and should not be used in production environments
  • HPE/Cray L1/L2 will not triage any CAST issues and close case as "will not fix" or reasonable category
  • HPE/Cray R&D will not provide L3 support for these features
