Manage Failback

Overview of three methods to fail back a node's resources to its HA partner

Automatic failback is not currently supported by the high availability (HA) service. Manual failback is the only method available, since automated failback could possibly interfere with the system's ability to perform diagnostics on a recovered node.

When a failed node is brought back online, the system administrator must go to the Node Control tab and take back services in order to migrate functionality back to the recovered node.

There are three ways to perform manual failback:

  • Take back the resources, initiated from the now recovered node that was failed over
  • Hand back the resources, initiated from the recovered node's HA partner
  • Access the command line interface and run the cscli failback command
