Configuring SNMP settings

Prerequisites

Role: Administrator with chassis access

Procedure
  1. Click Management in the navigation tree.
  2. Click the SNMP Settings tab.
  3. Enable the SNMP Alerts setting.
  4. Enter up to three SNMP Alert Destination IP addresses in the spaces provided.
  5. Enter a Trap Port.
  6. Enter a Trap Community.
  7. (Optional) Click Test Settings to generate a test alert and send it to the configured SNMP Alert Destinations.

    Test alerts are used to verify the network connectivity of Moonshot CM 2.0 with the configured SNMP Alert Destination addresses. After the alert is generated, check the alert destination for receipt of the alert.

  8. Click Apply to save the settings.

SNMP Settings

The SNMP Settings section displays the following SNMP options:
  • SNMP alerts—Enable this option to configure Moonshot CM 2.0 to send alerts to specified destinations.

  • SNMP Alert Destination #1–#3—Each alert destination is an IP address or FQDN of a management system that will receive alerts from Moonshot CM 2.0.

  • Trap Port—The port number on the specified alert destinations to which SNMP traps are sent. Default is port 162.

  • Trap Community—A string which identifies each alert and is included when any SNMP trap alerts are sent.
