MILAN, Italy – October 15, 2024 – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) today announced that Snam has chosen HPE Asset Upcycling Services to create investment capacity to support its technology modernization initiative and ensure end-of-use hardware gets refurbished and reused wherever possible, to meet its sustainability goals.
Snam is Europe’s leading operator in natural gas transport, storage and regasification. While ensuring Italy’s and Europe’s energy security, Snam is also focusing on innovation and sustainability to reach ambitious targets, including net zero emissions by 2050.
Snam selected HPE Asset Upcycling services to process its end-of-use hardware, including storage and servers across multiple brands, and send for secure refurbishment to meet its stringent data protection policies. This service is part of HPE’s full range of solutions to help customers modernize multi-generational IT estates, extend the life of legacy systems and associated software, and extract value from end-of-use technology.

“Helping customers refurbish and reuse technology instead of sending assets to the landfill is not only environmentally sensible but also economically advantageous and can create investment opportunities for new projects.”
“HPE fully understands the importance of protecting and securing data throughout its lifecycle including the secure disposal of technology and data at the end-of-life,” said Claudio Bassoli, president and managing director, HPE Italy. “Helping customers refurbish and reuse technology instead of sending assets to the landfill is not only environmentally sensible but also economically advantageous and can create investment opportunities for new projects.”
Last year, HPE processed over 4.2 million assets from customers with the resulting revenue being shared with customers increasing investment capacity for new projects. For more information about HPE Financial Services solutions, please see: http://hpe.com/hpefinancialservices.
