Amsterdam, Netherlands– December 5, 2023 – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) today announced Flevoziekenhuis, the main hospital for the Netherlands seventh biggest city, Almere, has selected HPE GreenLake and HPE Aruba Networking solutions to turn its IT infrastructure into a secure, scalable and sustainable cloud environment. The modernized infrastructure will deliver greater mobility and faster access to patients’ healthcare data to hospital employees while offering greater entertainment services for patients and families.
Flevoziekenhuis is a 450-bed hospital that annually serves more than 250,000 people in the Almere region. The hospital needed to modernize its existing technology environment to support current and future services deployments. Flevoziekenhuis also needed a cost-competitive solution that would enable further investments in patient care and expanded health services, while increasing security and resiliency against cyber threats and ransomware.
To meet these challenges, Flevoziekenhuis chose HPE GreenLake to provide an agile, high performance private cloud service with a pay-per-use financial model. The updated environment improves the performance and reliability of access to radiology and imaging archives, and enhances security and compliance against ransomware and other cyber threats, while providing a more efficient way to meet the regulatory requirements to store, compute and deliver high-quality care and innovations.
“We are very happy with our decision to use HPE GreenLake for our IT infrastructure,” said Danielle Dortalina, ICT- manager at Flevoziekenhuis. “HPE GreenLake has enabled us to modernize our IT environment, improve our service quality, and reduce our costs while offering our patients the right care.”
“HPE GreenLake has enabled us to modernize our IT environment, improve our service quality, and reduce our costs while offering our patients the right care.”
The hospital has also deployed HPE Aruba Networking solutions, including HPE Aruba Networking Wi-Fi access points, to provide public and private Wi-Fi services for its patients and staff. The public Wi-Fi provides entertainment for patients and families, whilst the private Wi-Fi provides a stable and secure service for all the tablets used daily by professionals to access and share critical healthcare data among different healthcare teams.
“HPE is proud to support Flevoziekenhuis in its digital transformation journey,” said Maarten Spijkers Managing Director and Vice President Hewlett Packard Enterprise the Netherlands. “HPE GreenLake is a unique cloud service that delivers the best of both worlds: the agility and flexibility of the cloud, with the security and control of on-premises IT. With HPE GreenLake, Flevoziekenhuis can focus on delivering better outcomes for its patients and staff, while leaving the IT management to us.”
Flevoziekenhuis is also benefiting from the environmental advantages of HPE GreenLake. The cloud service helps the hospital reduce its carbon footprint by optimizing its energy consumption and minimizing e-waste. The new IT infrastructure supports Flevoziekenhuis’ sustainability journey for better e-waste and health-care waste1 and allow the hospital to maintain its silver ranking2 in the Milieuthermometer, a Dutch sustainability classification.
