Leading Online Retailer Very.co.uk Selects Aurasma to Help Consumers Discover Their Technology Style
Fast-Growing Shopping Site Leverages HP Autonomy Mobile Technology to Reach Buyers in Innovative Ways
PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - May 14, 2013) - HP Autonomy today announced a new augmented reality (AR) media campaign with online retailer Very.co.uk, designed to promote HP's (NYSE: HPQ) innovative portfolio of notebook PCs and printers to the readers of eight major UK entertainment magazines.
Very.co.uk, part of Shop Direct Group, is a UK-based online department store that lets consumers shop across a variety of product areas, from fashion and footwear to furniture and electronics.
Aurasma, HP Autonomy's groundbreaking AR platform, connects the physical and digital worlds, allowing people to use rich images instead of text or QR codes to turn search into an action-oriented interactive experience.
Starting today, readers of UK magazines including Heat, New, Now and Reveal will encounter a full-page promotion enticing them to find their ideal HP notebook. Bringing the printed image to life with the free Aurasma mobile app, Very.co.uk is inviting readers to take a quiz that helps identify how they use their technology, and suggests the ideal notebook for their needs. The promotion also will include links to the Very.co.uk store.
"At Very.co.uk, we understand that everyone has their own style and needs for their technology," said Jon Owen, retail director, Very.co.uk. "With Aurasma, we are able to give consumers a superior, interactive experience, helping them identify which HP notebook is right for them. It lets us provide a far more targeted shopping experience right off the page, rather than a static advert that may not personally resonate with a broad audience of magazine readers."
These promotions also will be featured in Closer, Look and Star magazines. To view a short video of the promotion in action, click here.
Aurasma has more than 16,000 customers in 100 countries. Leading brands including Marvel, Maybelline, Sony Pictures, Teléfonica / O2, Universal Pictures and Universal Music Group use Aurasma to increase awareness and revenues for new campaigns and products. The simple and easy-to-use platform requires no software development training, and enables organizations of all sizes to quickly create and publish their own augmented reality content.
