New HPE vTeMIP software delivers assurance solutions with NFV-ready elasticity, scalability and high availability

NICE, FRANCE, May 15, 2017 – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) today announced HPE vTeMIP, a virtualized Operations Support System (OSS) solution that helps Communication Service Providers (CSPs) increase the agility of their network and service assurance management and lower costs. Building on HPEs flagship OSS product, TeMIP, the new solution leverages a micro service architecture and a single-pane-of-glass management console, enabling CSPs to reach higher SLA compliance, better customer experience and support the introduction of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Software-Defined Networks (SDN) and digital services.

Facing both fierce competition and the digital revolution, CSPs, now more than ever, have to differentiate themselves and look for new markets. In response, CSPs are turning to NFV and SDN to create more flexible and scalable networks as well as an increasing number of digital services. The launch of vTeMIP represents one of the very first Virtualized Management Functions (VMF) in the market, enabling OSS Assurance to support the increased pace of change in virtualized network environments.

"Even the most innovative and attractive service offerings wont generate new revenue without meeting customers quality and agility expectations, said Dave Sliter," Vice President & General Manager, Communications Solutions Business, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. "Our new OSS Assurance solution vTeMIP is key for CSPs to provide service quality and reliability, faster problem resolution, while meeting scalability and elasticity needs for NFV and digital services."

Micro-service architecture drives elasticity and agility

HPE vTeMIP is offered as a stand-alone product and leverages a micro-service architecture, delivering a set of virtualized functions for tasks like alarm management, mediation, storage, messaging and directory services. Virtualizing these management functions helps CSPs enhance their agility, enabling unlimited and cost-effective scalability to support growing demands and the deployment of new digital services.

The new OSS Assurance solution is intrinsically designed to manage any hardware failure and is resistant to virtual-machine (VM) failure as it can be configured to automatically add VMs to ensure the network management solution doesnt fail. HPE vTeMIP also brings new levels of application elasticity, enabling dynamic scale-out and scale-in without any loss of service according to predefined load-balancing rules. This robustness ensures that network assurance is prepared for unforeseen events that would normally cause major disruption.

Virtualization also allows vTeMIP to consolidate operational silos in one single pane of glass, providing a Manager of Managers (MoM) solution which unifies operations processes across telecom, IP, and IT domains. A new, HTML5-based web user interface provides an easy to use dashboard, and interactive control functions can be customized in a few clicks to meet unique requirements such as business flows or specific technology/geographical focus.

Bouygues Telecom becomes early vTeMIP user

With more than 350 successful deployments in communications networks worldwide, the current generation of TeMIP software has proven itself under the most demanding conditions. One existing customer, Bouygues Telecom, is one of the first early adopters of the new HPE vTeMIP solution.

"We initially chose TeMIP for its carrier-grade scalability, high availability and customizability," said Pierre Brossois, Supervision & IP Configuration Management BU Manager at Bouygues Telecom. "Today, we have two main objectives, firstly to investigate how to best leverage vTeMIPs new virtualized micro-service architecture and its HTML5 console, and secondly to refine the plan to migrate our production environment. HPE vTeMIP is a strategic choice for us to be able to operate the next generation of services, and we expect to further lower our operational costs, increase our SLA compliance and delight our users."

Additional information and the technical specifications of vTeMIP can be found here.

Availability

HPE vTeMIP will be available globally in August 2017.

HPE is showcasing the new vTeMIP solution at TM Forum Live!, May 15-18 in Nice, France at booth #326 along with its OSS and NFV portfolio.
