Hewlett Packard Enterprise Accelerates Introduction of New Services for DIGITALK

HPE Subscriber Data Management will help DIGITALK consolidate subscriber data to meet the growing demands of digital service providers

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 20, 2016 – Today Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced that DIGITALK, a trusted vendor of carrier, consumer and mobile solutions to retail and wholesale service providers worldwide, has selected HPE as the supplier for its core network transformation. DIGITALK will utilize HPEs Subscriber Data Management (SDM) solutions to extend its core network to meet the growing data demands of its subscribers.

SDM allows mobile network operators (MNOs), mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and carriers to consolidate and manage subscriber data via unified data repositories. With the introduction of more network technologies including 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi and 5G, communication services providers (CSPs) need to treat SDM as a network agnostic function to allow integration with third party network solutions. In addition to OPEX and CAPEX savings, SDM allows carriers to deliver personalized services faster and can effectively transform carriers into brokers of subscriber identity, both for their own services and for third parties such as content providers.

DIGITALK is looking to provide optimal worldwide MNO, MVNO and carrier interconnect to its data centers, which will allow better control over service levels that were previously governed by local carriers. The addition of SDM brings greater insight to customer usage, provides new revenue opportunities and streamlines utilization of services by a unified cloud approach.

By leveraging HPE SDM, DIGITALK will build on its cloud infrastructure, further centralizing customer information in a virtual database, increasing revenue generating opportunities by monetizing network and subscriber data, reducing the time needed to introduce new services and improve customer service, network capacity and scalability for a competitive advantage.

As our business continues to operate on a global scale, our work with HPE allows us to develop our business, said Justin Norris, CEO of DIGITALK. With its subscriber data management solution, our customers are able to adopt a more unified cloud platform, which allows for higher service quality that comes at lower costs.

The HPE SDM implementation for DIGITALK supports the management of MNO, MVNO and CSP subscriber data across heterogeneous networks. DIGITALK will use HPE Integrated Home Subscriber Server (I-HSS) for frontend SDM functions (HLR and HSS), HPE Universal Identity Repository (UIR) for backend SDM data consolidation and HPEs Provisioning Gateway for integration with Packet Core and existing IT infrastructure including OSS and BSS.

Helping DIGITALK transform its network to keep up with customer demand is core to our telco-cloud vision, said Dave Sliter, vice president and general manager, Communications & Media Solutions, HPE. Service providers need more agnostic solutions our SDM technology encourages the flexibility they require in order to remain competitive in the market so that their revenue potentials can be reached.
