Ireland’s leading digital financial service provider, Allied Irish Banks, selects HPE GreenLake to meet growing transaction volume and deliver improved scalability and enhanced security
Most enterprises today, including financial institutions, are on a multi-generational IT journey. Many started with a data center environment and are shifting to a hybrid multi-cloud approach to drive innovation and increase speed and agility. And they recognize the need to securely access and control their data assets from edge to cloud to accelerate business outcomes.
I have spent time with our financial/banking customers over the past few months, and I consistently hear that they want to enhance customer experience, modernize mission-critical systems and payment platforms, and take advantage of the efficiency and flexibility that hybrid cloud offers. And, because financial institutions have significant cyber security requirements, there are many non-negotiables, including resilience, sustainability, and security of the underlying technology platforms.
HPE is uniquely positioned to help customers bridge the present with the future, unifying service delivery across all their environments. With HPE GreenLake, the customer experience is flexible, scalable, secure, and easy wherever your apps and data live. For these reasons, many financial institutions have recently selected HPE GreenLake, including JCB, Worldline, Barclays, and Cardnet.
Since I joined HPE, I have been focused on taking our HPE GreenLake platform to the next level with a simple unified experience, enhanced security, and an expanded partner ecosystem to better meet the needs of our customers in the banking industry and beyond. Today I am pleased to announce that Allied Irish Banks (AIB) has selected the HPE GreenLake platform to support their hybrid cloud journey and future-proof performance to seamlessly manage growth in payment volumes.
AIB is one of Ireland's largest retail and commercial banks, with 2.8 million customers and more than 170 branches nationwide. In their efforts to lead the digital transformation in the Irish banking industry, AIB is pursuing a future-oriented hybrid cloud strategy.
AIB and HPE have enjoyed a long-term successful relationship, and now we’re working together to future-proof the bank’s mission-critical technology for its payments infrastructure. HPE GreenLake meets AIB’s extensive security, resilience, and availability requirements and will underpin vital services such as Debit Card Authorizations.
Graham Fagan, Director of Enterprise Technology & Cloud Engineering, AIB Group, explains: “In the financial industry, there are two key factors that are pivotal to the success of a bank, namely customer experience and security. To tackle these challenges and achieve our key objectives, we must harness the most advanced technology for our most important use cases, allowing us to continuously and consistently offer every customer a secure, seamless experience. With HPE GreenLake, we will implement a flexible and scalable private cloud platform to further strengthen critical technologies and workloads.”
HPE GreenLake provides a unified on-premises cloud experience, with on-demand capacity and consumption-based pricing for the upgraded HPE NonStop environment. HPE will also provide management and support services covering the production, test, and backup environments.
Working with our customers to bring their vision to life with HPE technology energizes me. AIB is the latest example, and I look forward to helping more customers accelerate their hybrid cloud journey with HPE GreenLake. I hope you can join us at HPE Discover in Las Vegas to hear more.
