Keith White, a 20-year Microsoft veteran, joins the HPE team as the new head of HPE GreenLake

I’m pleased to announce that Keith White, a proven cloud strategy leader, is joining HPE to lead the newly created HPE GreenLake business unit, reporting to me. I’m sure Keith White and our talented team will propel HPE GreenLake to even greater heights.

Keith comes to HPE with more than 20 years at Microsoft, where he played a central role in developing their end-to-end, go-to-market, and cloud business strategy. In his most recent role as head of their Intelligent Cloud, Worldwide Commercial Business, Keith played a key role in driving the significant growth of Azure over seven consecutive years. Keith also brings extensive experience in worldwide field sales and marketing, partner ecosystem development and business strategy leadership – all of which will be key elements of his role here at HPE.

Keith’s arrival comes at an exciting time in our business. Just last week, in announcing the imminent launch of HPE GreenLake Central, our President and CEO Antonio Neri called it “a transformative platform that changes the game in hybrid IT.”

I couldn’t agree more. HPE GreenLake Central builds on the momentum of HPE GreenLake – one of our fastest-growing businesses – and furthers our commitment to offer our entire portfolio as-a-Service (aaS) by 2022. And with this advanced software platform, we have all the tools in place to run, manage and optimize a customer’s entire hybrid IT estate.

But the HPE difference is not simply having the best hybrid IT technology available today. It’s the people behind our innovative solutions that enable our market-leading advantage. And that’s where Keith and thousands of talented HPE GreenLake team members come in.

As we transform to become the premier edge-to-cloud platform-as-a-Service company, Keith’s role is fundamental to ensuring HPE continues to deliver a seamless cloud experience for our customers’ and partners’ workloads, at the edge, across all of their clouds, and in the data center.

And Keith has a great foundation to build on. In just two years, HPE GreenLake has grown to more than 740 customers worldwide, including 160 new wins this year. Plus, the channel has generated over 200% order growth in 2019, further proof that our partner community is world-class and essential to our success.

It’s a critical time in the development of the aaS paradigm. Last week, HPE also released the results of a survey of IT decision makers (ITDMs), and 87% report that their organizations have started to implement aaS solutions. However, 71% are concerned about keeping up with the ever-changing aaS landscape.

That presents an incredible opportunity for HPE. With our extensive technology solutions and platforms, and experienced personnel, we should be the go-to resource for hybrid IT for any organization seeking to leverage the benefits of aaS.
