HPE takes home three Tech Innovator Awards

Our AI-driven technology is helping partners and customers streamline operations and accelerate innovation

The CRN Tech Innovator Awards were announced earlier this week, and I couldn’t be more pleased to share that we landed three wins for our best-in-class HCI, storage and server technology. I’m excited to announce the world’s most intelligent storage for mission critical applications, HPE Primera, took top honors in the Enterprise Storage category, HPE Nimble Storage dHCI, our recently announced platform that enables partners to deliver faster and more flexible infrastructure to customers, won for top data center infrastructure technology – the second win in a row for our HCI solutions – and HPE InfoSight on HPE ProLiant servers secured the number one position in the Server category.

The Tech Innovator Awards, as CRN states, honor innovative hardware, software and services, with CRN editors evaluating hundreds of products using criteria including technological advancements, uniqueness of features, and potential to help solution providers solve common IT challenges.

These awards are important to HPE not only because they showcase our leading innovations, but because they represent HPE’s commitment to our channel community. Our partners are at the heart of our business, and we are committed to continuously anticipating trends, and developing the best solutions for our partners to bring to their customers.

Now, let me unpack these award-winning products in a little more detail.

HPE Primera - Redefining mission-critical storage with intelligence                        

Earlier this year we announced HPE Primera, our newest platform that has been redefining mission-critical storage. We’ve seen the shift in the way enterprises operate, and we strive to enable our customers to accelerate speed of business and innovation. HPE Primera combines agility and resiliency through a services-centric OS that can be upgraded by the user in 5 minutes – bringing our partners and customers a simple, consumer-grade experience. And, HPE InfoSight is the secret sauce bringing intelligence and machine learning to HPE Primera. With HPE InfoSight, our customers have the ability to predict and prevent issues, and accelerate application performance and as a result, HPE Primera customers have the ability to spend up to 93% less time managing storage.

With IT admins now better able to keep up with the daily demands of their business, without being tied down administering, tuning, and supporting infrastructure, they’re no longer forced to sacrifice agility for reliability. With HPE Primera redefining what’s possible in storage, we can give our customers the simplicity, availability and performance needed to power their digital transformation.

We also made HPE Primera simple to own by giving users the choice to deploy HPE Primera as a service with a fully managed experience, paying only for what they use through HPE GreenLake.

HPE Nimble Storage dHCI – Extending HCI to business-critical applications

HPE also recently introduced HPE Nimble Storage dHCI, our new disaggregated HCI platform that enables partners to extend the hyperconverged experience to new use cases. Our partners and customers now have the opportunity to attach HPE Nimble Storage to our market leading server installed base, enabling ease of deployment and lower cost to run. We know enterprises need to support their apps and deploy them faster, all while optimizing time and resources. With the self-managing capabilities of HPE InfoSight, combined with the reliability of HPE Nimble Storage, we’re giving users an intelligent platform that enables them to power their business-critical applications, and save time managing their infrastructure. This is a great solution for customers who are looking for the next stage of resiliency and speed to serve.

HPE Nimble Storage dHCI delivers the simplicity of hyperconverged (HCI) with the flexibility of a converged system. It integrates HPE Nimble Storage and the world’s best-selling server, HPE ProLiant. For our partners, HPE is offering even more choice for their customers when choosing an HCI platform. Whether HPE SimpliVity for general-purpose workloads, edge, and ROBO apps, or HPE Nimble Storage dHCI for performance-intensive and business-critical applications, HPE is bringing an intelligent HCI experience for every virtual machine.

HPE Servers - Smarter, self-monitoring infrastructure with HPE InfoSight predictive analytics

In a promise to deliver HPE InfoSight across HPE’s portfolio, we announced HPE InfoSight’s predictive analytics capabilities are now available for HPE ProLiant servers. HPE InfoSight drives down operating costs for our customers by anticipating, reporting and remediating problems prior to them occurring, freeing IT staff to innovate. By extending the predictive analytics and recommendation capabilities of HPE InfoSight to HPE servers, we are enabling smarter, self-monitoring infrastructure for our customers, including:

• Global visibility into the server infrastructure – We have a wellness monitoring dashboard that gives customers a consolidated view of the health and status of their server infrastructure. This optimizes overall performance and prevents critical issues.
  
  
• Predictive analytics - Insight on part failures enables IT managers to make necessary maintenance requests for replacement - reducing downtime. And, predictive analytics capabilities alert managers to server security concerns such as rogue login attempts - protecting servers against costly threats.
  
  
• Recommendation engine - Using insights from predictive analytics, HPE InfoSight provides recommendations based on patterns or signs of abnormality - eliminating performance bottlenecks on servers.

This year’s winning products and solutions from HPE all support the shift enterprises are making toward an autonomous, self-driving infrastructure. These wins represent HPE’s commitment to staying ahead of the technology curve, anticipating customers’ needs, and providing the infrastructure and services to propel their businesses into the future.

A great example of a HPE partner putting our winning technology in action for one of their clients comes from Ultima. Ultima is an award-winning, automation-driven Intelligent IT Solutions provider with over 20 years’ experience. Royal Berkshire NHS Trust, a hospital trust located in the UK, had unreliability in their current IT infrastructure, leading to application delays and a poor patient experience. The IT team had been asked to create a transformed experience for all that interacted with the Trust. In order to address this, Ultima was approached to create a solution that would enable data to get to doctors’ hands quicker and speed up patient care. The solution Ultima delivered was a combination of HPE Nimble Storage, HPE ProLiant servers and HPE InfoSight. Combining these HPE technologies has transformed the patient experience by enabling doctors to work more efficiently. And, by utilizing HPE InfoSight, the Trust’s IT team has been able to spend minimal time supporting the infrastructure, enabling them to spend time innovating and supporting their stakeholders – the doctors, nurses and patients.
