Paul Hunter, Global Channel Chief at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, recaps another hugely successful week at HPE Technology and Solutions Summit, this time in Paris – as well as the global rollout of the HPE Tech Pro Community programme
I spend well over half my working hours with and talking to partners all around the world. I get to hear first-hand how they are selling our solutions and discuss what else we can do to keep them successful. So, I was thrilled to have the largest participation, yet, from our partners at this year’s Technology and Solution Summit (TSS) in Paris.
It was a privilege to have on stage, a partner solution architect under the age of 30 who joined the keynote to tell an inspiring transformative story - a win made possible by expertise and collaboration. Matthew Beale from Ultima, explained how Royal Berkshire NHS Trust were looking for a way to deliver critical hospital applications and services with a low touch primary storage platform. The solution needed to deliver high performance but remain easy for their small IT team to manage and provide a ‘Digital Patient Experience’ that allowed information such as X-rays to be accessed quickly by doctors. Together, Ultima and HPE proposed a solution using HPE Nimble, Synergy & StoreOnce products to be fully managed by Ultima. Royal Berkshire NHS now own the equipment and use the skilled team at Ultima to manage the day to day maintenance so their own IT team can work on new and innovative applications. This has significantly improved, and positively transformed, the patient experience; medical professionals have instant access to patient records, from anywhere, allowing treatment to happen sooner and the patienthealth to improve faster.
“By working in partnership with HPE and Ultima, Royal Berkshire NHS managed to leverage the best of both of our capabilities. Ultima’s relationship with the customer and understanding of the requirement and HPE’s technical capability and referenceability provided a truly compelling story to the customer. Furthermore, by speaking to users and departments within the hospital Ultima were able to gather the requirement, not only from the technology perspective but also the business perspective. When this was combined with the capabilities of the HPE team working alongside Ultima, we were able to put a solution together that could be underwritten and instilled confidence in Royal Berkshire NHS that the solution that they were investing in was fit for purpose.” – Matthew Beale, Solution Specialist, Ultima.
This story exemplifies our strategy to work with our partners as one cohesive team, which is also at the heart of the announcement made at HPE TSS. Over 3000 attendees learned how we are increasing the investment in technical enablement within our channel partners and our own presales teams through the global rollout of HPE Tech Pro Community – our elite technical community for partner solution architects and HPE presales professionals. The extended community brings these groups together to work as one team, offering ongoing support and exclusive access to insider training, tools, resources and expertise – for our partners and for us here at HPE alike!
We’ve been running this in the Asia Pacific region for over a year, having originally launched in May 2017 – and this program has proven to be highly successful. Due to this, we’re now expanding it globally as part of a multi-million dollar investment to enable the technical community to deliver high value solutions, based on our innovation, and to reward partners for their investments in training and development. Through HPE Tech Pro Community, we believe that we’re really extending our commitment to the channel and our own solutions architects – partly through promoting engagement, networking and learning across the industry, but also through elevating their expertise to drive business outcome-led solutions. Hosting TSS allowed us to encourage our partners to be active in learning and keep up to speed on the latest products and technology. It’s vital to us, our partners and to our growth.
This is what our partners had to say about our announcement:
“Communities are the way forward – getting problems solved, enjoying information based on other people’s experience and knowledge is key. Having thousands of technicians in your pocket or mobile device - while onsite trying to solve a customer problem. That’s a pretty amazing thing to have. Who else has this? Now, that is differentiating!” – Anders Bech Jensen, Atea, Denmark
“It consolidates all the tools that we need as presales and solution architects, so instead of looking for information, design tips or answers, we can now find them in one single platform” - Jana Cheaib, Comprehensive Computing Innovations (CCI) Group, Lebanon
“It’s a great initiative from HPE, as we will have one step access to all the needed resources to architect a solution. We will have a global community where we can exchange knowledge between experts. I think we can boost our careers and knowledge through this new platform.” – Jamil Huniedi, Scientific and Medical Supplies Company (SMS), Jordan
Throughout the event I was witness to the real-time collaboration happening in our channel as well as seeing how rapidly the skillset is growing though the technical community. Many of the attendees completed HPE Accredited Technical Professional (ATP) Certification (and many other levels and specialisations) whilst they were onsite.
I want to thank each and every partner who attended HPE TSS in Bangkok and Paris who came with enthusiasm and passion and who make this community so engaging and exciting, every day. I hope this should entice partners who are due to attend the forthcoming HPE Aspire event in Orlando in May. I look forward to seeing you all there!
