- We believe Latest placement - on the heels of earlier flash storage recognition - illustrates the power of predictive, cloud-ready and timeless storage solutions
- HPE's software-defined storage products portfolio enables customers to choose the best solution for ever-evolving needs and workloads
We believe Analyst reports affirm that HPE's strategy for hybrid IT data storage is spot on
Hybrid IT is proving to be a boon for our customers. But getting there isn't always easy.
As IT organizations of all sizes adopt new applications and data models, the need to simplify and streamline operations across the data center has never been more critical. These demands apply to all functions, including data storage - and we've taken dramatic steps in recent years to improve our entire portfolio and encourage customers to think "beyond the box" for storage.
And we believe one of the world's leading IT research and advisory firms has taken notice.
This week, Gartner published its 2017 Magic Quadrant (MQ) for General-Purpose Disk Arrays. At over $15 billion annually this remains the largest sector within the storage market. I'm delighted to report that HPE is positioned in the Leader's Quadrant for its, Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute.
This news comes on the heels of this summer's 2017 Magic Quadrant for Solid State Arrays, Gartner's evaluation of the Solid State Arrays market, in which HPE is placed in the leaders' quadrant as one of seven vendors included in the Leaders' Quadrant.
We believe these reports provide further validation that our strategy for data storage in today's digital world is spot on. And, that our expansive portfolio of all flash, hyper converged, products is enabling customers of all sizes and across all industries to choose the best solution for their needs and workloads. Our core portfolio includes:
- HPE 3PAR - suitable for buyers seeking flexibility, the broadest set of storage features and 6-nines guaranteed availability
- HPE Nimble Storage - suitable for buyers who place a focus on simplicity, a new style of support and 6-nines guaranteed availability
- HPE Simplivity - for vm centric customers wanting a new approach to converge compute, network and storage into one appliance
I'm extremely proud of these achievements, but not surprised. Our teams have been diligently working to redefine storage for HPE and our customers for several years, and the fruits of their labors are becoming increasingly evident.
Predictive, cloud-ready and timeless
We firmly believe, and customers are confirming for us, that the storage solutions of today (and tomorrow) must focus on three defining attributes to optimize the power of hybrid IT.
They must be predictive. IT can't afford to be mired in costly, productivity-draining slowdowns, so storage solutions must be smart, with the ability to predict and resolve problems even before they happen. For instance, HPE InfoSight - available for our Nimble Storage arrays, and soon across our entire portfolio - analyzes millions of sensors every second, and predicts and prevents 86 percent of issues even before our customers are aware of them. That's an invaluable attribute.
Storage solutions must also be cloud-ready.. Accordingly, our hybrid cloud solutions provide mobility, simplicity, security, governance and control to support IT and business goals. Two examples of goals we are supporting include enabling customers to easily migrate data between on-premises and the public cloud (with HPE Cloud Volumes), and allowing them to perform cost-effective backup and archival to the cloud (with StoreOnce Cloud Bank Storage).
Finally, storage must be timeless. Customers tell us they expect the investment they make today to carry them well into the future, and we've heard them loud and clear. HPE Nimble Storage and 3PAR arrays have all-inclusive licensing, flexible refresh options, and guaranteed availability. They future-proof users for Storage Class Memory, NVMe and other emerging technologies.
Gartner's recognition of our storage capabilities is gratifying, as we believe it indicates that our focus on bringing even more innovation to hybrid IT is working. Download your complimentary copy of Gartner's 2017 Magic Quadrant (MQ) for General-Purpose Disk Arrays here.
