And positioning for a successful integration with Micro Focus
Today kicks off a new fiscal year for HPE, and marks an important inflection point for HPE Software. FY17 is all about delivering on our customer and financial commitments and successfully completing our planned spin-merger with Micro Focus.
Since the initial announcement of the spin-merge, we have taken time to evaluate how best to guide our organization through the transition and ensure we are set up for success heading into FY17. As a result, today we are announcing several significant changes that I believe will significantly enhance our ability to deliver a stronger and more unified go-to-market (GTM) motion across sales and marketing, and also enable us to capitalize on natural areas of strength and synergy, specifically in security and data governance.
First, Sue Barsamian , who previously led our Enterprise Security Products business, will now lead Sales & Marketing for Software with responsibility for sales, pre-sales, strategic sales, inside sales, indirect sales, sales operations and marketing. In her new role, Sue will ensure we have the right go-to-market model in place to best serve our customers, deliver on our plan, and integrate smoothly with Micro Focus. At the same time, she and the team will also be focused on accelerating our Sales transformation journey.
Were really excited to have Sue leading this critical function for our business. The combination of her experience leading Enterprise Security Products, running indirect sales for the Enterprise Group and holding Marketing positions earlier in her career make Sue a great fit for this role.
With this move, we are also combining our Enterprise Security Products and Information Management & Governance businesses to form Security & Information Governance under the leadership of David Jones . Our customers are increasingly demanding comprehensive solutions that span security and risk management, with a focus on protecting what matters most the data. By bringing together these two complementary businesses, we will deliver a unique offering that addresses our customers evolving needs and leverages the innovations and GTM opportunities across the product lines. Davids strong general management experience, software knowledge and customer focus make him ideal to lead these businesses.
As David takes on larger responsibilities, we will expand Mike Sullivan s role to lead Digital Safe in addition to our software as a service (SaaS). As a contributing founder of Digital Safe, Mike is ideal for this role and will be responsible for the full profit and loss (P&L), budget and roadmap.
The following leaders will continue running their respective areas:
Tony Sumpster , IT Operations & Management
Raffi Margaliot , Application Delivery Management
Colin Mahony , Big Data Platform
Jerome Labat , Chief Technology Office
In addition, Deven Waghani , who leads Support, and Michael Garrett , the head of the Services team, are joining the Software Leadership Team. Support and Services are large and critical areas of our business and its important that these groups get the right visibility and management focus.
Im excited about the future of our Software business and the value well bring customers, partners, shareholders and employees through our planned spin-merger with Micro Focus. These changes are an important step in positioning our business for continued success.
