Promoting from Within: Tom Goguen to Lead HPE ITOM Business

The world of software delivery and IT Operations is rapidly changing. Now more than ever HPE Software knows that in order to help customers deliver on key agendas such as Hybrid Cloud, Next Gen IT Service Management and IT Analytics it is critical that we provide not only market leading solutions, but we also transform the way those solutions are delivered to market. We need to provide customers with flexible consumption models, next generation features and new deployment methods that enable quick time to value, lower total cost of ownership and overall enable a more successful transformation to the next generation of organization.
To lead us into the next stage, it’s with great pleasure that we announce today the promotion of Tom Goguen, currently the VP and General Manager of HPE Software’s Automate and Orchestrate group, to lead the end to end ITOM business. His business and technical acumen, combined with his passion for building great teams, and his focus on the customer and their needs makes him a terrific choice for the role.
As a visionary leader with 20+ years’ experience, Tom has a strong track record of driving innovation, managing through change, and delivering results. Throughout his career, he has worked in various positions in engineering, marketing, product and general management, operating across business groups with revenues in excess of $1B.
Tom takes over this role from Tony Sumpster, who will be leaving HPE to pursue other opportunities in line with his own professional aspirations. During his tenure at HPE, Tony made a number of contributions - from leading our SaaS business to most recently re-architecting the ITOM organization, and leading a massive transformation within the business – all while building incredibly strong relationships with customers.
Given the significant role ITOM plays in the future of HPE Software, it is imperative that we have a strong leader in place. Tom will help us accelerate investments and product innovation that deliver the most value to the broadest set of customers. This is an exciting time for ITOM and HPE Software!
