While many enterprise applications are already living on the cloud, most businesses have a handful of their often most valuable applications that are not yet connected. But selecting a cloud-based solution across an entire region isn't easy when CIOs must also comply with local regulations. The HPE-backed Cloud28+ federation wants to make the transition easier for businesses by simplifying enterprise cloud software deployment.Last month in Amsterdam, the 225-member federation met and announced significant enhancements on the path to providing a common way for cloud infrastructure providers to deliver software and services in Europe. The group announced that it plans to open a new App Center on June 7 and a partner dashboard based on real-time analytics to help track performance, generate customer leads and market services. The Cloud28+ federation will test them for compatibility for free. It will also open up the catalog with support for HPE Helion OpenStack, Microsoft Azure, VMWare, Ormuco and Docker technologies. The new App Center will also host containerized apps from ISV partners, which can be downloaded and automatically installed at the premises of a service provider or an end customer. Watch Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO Meg Whitman talk about how Cloud28+ helps overcome strong regulatory and data privacy requirement and what the future holds for Cloud28+.
