HPE Financial Services can help customers find new ways to plan for, acquire, consume and sustainably retire the technology needed for digital transformation.

  • Simple, secure and auditable

Onsite decommissioning services provide a secure and auditable way to decommission IT assets and sanitize data. HPEFS can simplify your technology refresh process, enabling you to focus on innovation and business growth.

  • Available services

    Deinstallation

This service is designed for customers who are focused on implementing the next big innovation and have limited resources available for removing outdated equipment. HPEFS can manage a wide range of workplace assets, including mobile phones, laptops, desktops, office servers, datacenter equipment, and high-performance compute (HPC) systems.

It is a natural complement to Data Sanitization and Device Destruction, providing the necessary removal of devices before these additional services are applied.

    Data Sanitization

Designed for customers who need assistance securely removing data from assets before they leave the premises, this service helps organizations adhere to internal audit requirements. It empowers organizations to drive sustainable IT goals through upcycling, providing confidence that both data and reputation are protected.

This service can be complemented by Deinstallation and/or Device Destruction according to need.

    Device Destruction

For some customers, the only acceptable data security option is to physically destroy the device so that it cannot be used again. HPEFS offers three variants to achieve this:

    • Degaussing: Uses electromagnetic waves to erase the data on hard disk drives. Although the physical appearance of the device remains unchanged, this process renders it permanently unusable.
    • Shredding: Puts the storage media through a machine that breaks it into small particles, which can then be recycled as raw materials.
    • Spiking: Deforms the storage media, making it inoperable. This method is offered in countries where it is necessary to identify the source of raw materials during recycling.

Due to the need to remove the device media from its host to perform the selected service, Device Destruction is naturally complemented by Deinstallation. It provides a secure alternative for any device that fails sanitization checks.

    Pack and Ship Services (PASS)

When assets are sent to HPEFS for asset upcycling, improper packing can result in damage during transit, impacting their economic value in the pre-owned and spares market. Pack and Ship Services alleviate the burden of properly packaging and shipping the assets to HPEFS, ensuring that they arrive in good condition and retain their value.

    Available services include:

Segregation: HPEFS specialists work with the customer to collect and categorize assets for more efficient processing. Such categories include, non-IT, recyclable and data-bearing assets.

Scanning: All data-bearing assets are electronically scanned to capture a serial number (if visible), a customer asset tag (if readable), or a temporary HPEFS tag.

Reconciliation: Customers can review the list of assets, reconcile any discrepancies with the assets they expected to send to HPEFS, and approve the packing and shipment.

Enhanced Packing and Shipping: Approved assets are expertly boxed and loaded onto pallets, which are then wrapped with tamper-evident wrapping and security tape. The bill of lading and tracking information are provided before the truck departs.

    Confirmation of Delivery:

Upon arrival at HPEFS’ facility, the assets are unwrapped and re-scanned. A detailed report confirming the arrival of each asset is sent back to the customer within two business days.
