About VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager

VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager is the next version of Update Manager that enables centralized, automated patch and version management for VMware vSphere. It offers support for VMware ESXi hosts, virtual machines, and virtual appliances. With VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager, a user can upgrade and patch ESXi, and update third-party software on hosts. VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager can also perform firmware updates on hosts, OS, drivers, and software updates.

The HPE OneView Hardware Support Manager (HSM) plug-in for VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager integrates with HPE OneView for VMware vCenter and allows users to update server firmware and drivers in the same maintenance window as the ESXi server Operating System updates, with a single reboot if possible.

For more information, see the VMware vSphere Documentation.

NOTE:

The HPE OneView Hardware Support Manager plug-in supports updates to HPE ProLiant Gen10 (HPE Synergy, Rack, Blade, and Apollo) servers and Gen10 Plus servers managed by HPE OneView.

For more information, see the HPE OneView for VMware vCenter documentation.
