Invalid UUID of the server hardware

Symptom
The server hardware displays the following alert: 
The server hardware UUID is not valid
Cause

Invalid UUID is displayed when the serial number and product ID are not properly reprogrammed after a system board replacement.

Action

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

  1. Power off the server.
  2. Click the Alternatively, update the serial number and product ID automatically link to launch the Update Serial Number and Product ID dialog.
  3. Enter the serial number and product ID.
  4. Click Yes, update.

    • The BIOS is updated with the specified serial number and product ID.

    • The server hardware is powered on and then off.

    • The server hardware is refreshed, which causes the server hardware resource to be removed, and then added back in with the updated UUID.
