Create hypervisor cluster profile

You can create a hypervisor cluster by defining a hypervisor cluster profile. If you have specified an OS deployment plan, you can add hypervisors as part of creating the hypervisor cluster profile.
Prerequisites
  • Has a registered hypervisor manager.

  • The server profile template has a configured connection to the hypervisor management network for the template to be valid for use by a hypervisor cluster profile. The hypervisor management network defined in HPE OneView has its purpose set to Management.

  • The consistency checking configuration in the server profile template is set as described in Server profile template consistency check for hypervisor cluster profiles.

  • Has a registered OS deployment server in HPE OneView.

  • Has OS deployment that can be used for deploying the hypervisor OS on the server hardware. The OS deployment plan has the following OS deployment settings: ManagementNIC and Password. For more information, see Best practices for configuring the OS deployment plan and settings.

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator, Server administrator, Server profile architect, or Server profile administrator.

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select HYPERVISORS > Hypervisor Cluster Profiles.
  2. Select + Create hypervisor cluster profile.
  3. Enter the data requested on the screen.
    NOTE:

Under Hypervisor Settings, define the virtual switch type to be used, enable or disable VMware Multi-NIC vMotion configuration, and enable or disable VMware vSphere DRS and HA configuration.

  4. Click Create to create the hypervisor cluster profile, or click Create + to create multiple hypervisor cluster profiles.
  5. Verify that the hypervisor cluster profile or profiles have been created by confirming they are listed on the master pane.
