Adding HPE OneView appliances
To add an HPE OneView appliance to be managed by the SCOM:
- Expand the HPE OneView Systems folder in Monitoring view of the SCOM. The HPE OneView Systems folder expands, revealing several views including the Configuration Dashboard view.
- Select the Configuration Dashboard view. The Configuration Dashboard shows a custom-defined control, allowing adding/editing or removing of HPE OneView appliance.
-
Add the HPE OneView appliance details to the
Configuration Dashboard.
Click Add.
-
To trust and continue adding the HPE OneView appliance, click
Yes. To discard the whole operation, click
No.
If you are using a CA-signed certificate, before adding the appliance to the dashboard, you must import the certificate to the trusted root store.
If you are adding an appliance using CA-signed certificate, import the certificate to the trusted root certification authorities of the local computer before adding the appliance to the dashboard. If you forget to import the certificate, a relevant error message is displayed.
If there is Resource pool environment, the self-signed certificate is auto imported to the trusted root store of the management server managing the appliance, discovery works as expected. Whereas in a CA-signed certificate, you must import the certificate to the trusted root certification authorities of the local computer or management server. If the CA-signed certificate is not imported to the trusted root store of management server, it will display the alert specific to certificate missing on the SCOM operation console under Active Alerts along with management server information.
The Configuration Dashboard indicates that the supported appliance has been added and lists the newly added appliance in the Managed Appliances list. The new appliance will be discovered in the Console following the next discovery cycle.
NOTE: By default, the discovery interval of HPE OneView Appliance class is set to 4 hours. The interval can be customized by the user.NOTE: When adding HPE OneView appliances using Active Directory users, use theDirectoryname\domainuserformat, whereDirectorynameis the name of the directory provided in HPE OneView during the Active Directory integration.NOTE: Users must be now part of the infrastructure administrator role and must have scope to all resources.NOTE:If the add operation fails, Log in to the system with domain administrator account and try to read again using operation console.
NOTE:If there is any change in the certificate for an appliance (certificate expired or certificate deleted from trust store), remove the respective appliance and add it back using Configuration Dashboard.
