There are some real differences running the JDK on OpenVMS Integrity servers systems that could trip you up! Please read the documentation for critical usage information that will save you time and effort.

To download JDK 8.0 for OpenVMS Integrity servers simply follow the instructions below.

Operating System Requirements
The JDK 8.0 kit requires OpenVMS Integrity servers V8.4 or higher. This includes HPE OpenVMS version 8.4 for HPE Integrity server systems and OpenVMS version 8.4-1H1 and higher from VMS Software Inc.

This kit will not run on versions of OpenVMS Integrity prior to V8.4.

Please visit OpenVMS website, if you need to upgrade your operating system.

Other Prerequisites:

  • JDK 8.0 must be installed on an ODS-5 formatted disk.
  • The OpenVMS internationalization data kit (VMSI18N kit) must be installed in order for the Java™ debugger (jdb) and other utilities to operate correctly.
  • TCP/IP V5.7 with latest ECO for OpenVMS Integrity V8.4 and above.
Note: We do not support MultiNet directly. All of our testing and certification is done using TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS; however, because we do not call TCP/IP directly and use only the socket functions available from HP C, MultiNet should work with this JDK.
  • DECwindows Motif V1.5, if you plan on AWT use.
  • Kernel support for Thread Manager upcalls must be enabled.
