Determining workload placement can be complicated. As you match a workload for a given destination you may consider a range of factors and different environments including on-premises traditional IT and private cloud, and off-premises public cloud – otherwise known as Hybrid IT. To make the right decision, it’s important to understand what role application performance really plays as you determine which deployment environment is right for a given workload.

HPE recently commissioned Frost and Sullivan to look at how the hybrid IT environment calls for a new way of thinking about “application performance.” In this report, they show how application performance is impacted by choice of deployment model (on premises and in the public cloud). They look at workloads whose performance requirements make them candidates for on-premises deployment, and identify the link between “optimal performance” and achievement of business goals.
