HPE RHEL 7 Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS) Add-on

After 10 years in the market, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 will reach End of Maintenance (EOM) on June 30, 2024, which means that Red Hat will no longer provide bug fixes, security fixes, hardware enablement, or root-cause analysis unless users take action to either:

a) Upgrade to a newer, supported release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (version 8 or version 9), or,

b) Ensure they are on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9 and optionally purchase an Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS) add-on.

What is Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS)?

ELS delivers certain critical-impact security fixes, selected urgent priority bug fixes, and troubleshooting for the last minor release of a given version of RHEL (RHEL 7.9).

a) Available from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2028

b) Available in 1-year increments for up to 4 years

c) ELS is applicable to Standard or Premium subscriptions only.
