GREENSBORO — Otis Andrews, 85, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013. Cremation services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.
WINSTON-SALEM — Mr. Vance Hardin Clodfelter, 79, of the Wallburg community, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, March 17, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Davidson County, a son of the late Jerry Clodfelter and Daisy Boyles Clodfelter. Vance and his late brother, Auman were owner-operators of Clodfelter Logging for many years. Vance was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Vance loved NASCAR and hanging out with his buddies at the store. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Womble Clodfelter; two sisters, Eva Johnson and Ethel Parks; and two brothers, June Clodfelter and Auman Clodfelter.
Surviving are two daughters, Kay Morphis and husband Jon and Terri Marshall and husband Danny, both of Winston-Salem; one son, Richard Clodfelter; two grandchildren, Michael Morphis and Heather Scott and husband Chad; one great-granddaughter Chole Scott; and one sister, Alma Peele and husband James.
Funeral for Vance will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Westfall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Vance will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home (Wallburg Chapel) 10301 N. NC Highway 109, Winston-Salem until placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

Evelyn King Hepler
HIGH POINT — Evelyn King Hepler, age 91, of High Point, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Westwood Health Rehab Center.
Mrs. Hepler was born April 19, 1921, to the late George Whitfield King and Mabel Henderson. A resident of High Point for most of her life, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church of High Point. Mrs. Hepler also enjoyed reading and gardening. Mrs. Hepler was preceded in death by first husband, Ernest Lee Ritchie, second husband, Marvin Daniel Hepler, and a brother, George King Jr. She is survived by a son, Donald Ritchie of High Point; and two grandsons, Brian Corey Strader and Robert Shannon Strader, both of High Point.
A celebration of Mrs. Hepler’s life will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point Chapel, with Reverend Dr. Ken Broman-Fulks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont.

Jule Hurst McLauchlin
GREENSBORO — Jule Hurst McLauchlin, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at her residence at River Landing at Sandy Ridge in Colfax, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at River Landing at Sandy Ridge. Interment will be held prior to the service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 22, in Raeford Cemetery, Raeford, NC.
Jule was born in Fort Valley, GA, on April 11, 1923, to the late Samuel Thomas Hurst Jr. and Jule Hunter Hurst. Mrs. McLauchlin lived in Fort Valley as a child. After the death of her parents, she moved to Charlotte, NC, where she made her home with her aunt and uncle, James Norman Pease and Eddie Hunter Pease. In 1951 she married Hugh Charles McLauchlin Sr. They made Greensboro their home in 1961 and Jule lived there until moving to the Presbyterian Home of High Point and then to River Landing at Sandy Ridge. Mrs. McLauchlin graduated from Central High School in Charlotte and Women’s College, now UNC-G. She was active in the community where she was a loyal member of Guilford Park Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women, the Guilford Battle Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the David Caldwell Log College Acquisition Team and the Junior League of Greensboro.
In addition to her parents and her aunt and uncle, Jule was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Charles McLauchlin, and her brother, Edward Hunter Hurst.
Mrs. McLauchlin is survived by her daughter, Jule McLauchlin Connolly and husband Henry; her son, Hugh Charles McLauchlin Jr. and wife Susan; and grandchildren, Jennifer Connolly, Laura Connolly, Duncan McLauchlin and Kristin McLauchlin. She is also survived by her brothers, Samuel Thomas Hurst III and John Hunter Hurst, as well as a large extended family.
The family will receive friends after the service, Friday, March 22, at River Landing at Sandy Ridge.

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Josephine Everhart Leonard Tate, 91, a resident of Spring Arbor of Thomasville passed away on Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013, at Spring Arbor. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
