EAST DAVIDSON 4, RANDLEMAN 3

THOMASVILLE – Spencer Embler’s single with no outs in the bottom of the seventh plated Paige Byrd with the winning run as East Davidson rallied for a 4-3 victory over Randleman on Monday.

The Golden Eagles (4-1) trailed 3-2 entering the seventh. Morgan Gallimore was hit by a pitch to drive in the tying run, setting the stage for Embler’s game-winner.

Embler went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and also got the win on the mound. Byrd finished 2-for-3 with two runs, while Natalie Naturile was 2-for-3 with a run.

East visits Trinity on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

S. GUILFORD 4, NW GUILFORD 3

SUMNER – Robin Stoner earned the pitching win with four strikeouts as Southern Guilford nipped Northwest Guilford 4-3 on Monday.

Amber Stanly finished 2-for-3 with a double for the Storm (7-1). Laura Daly went 1-for-2 with a triple and two runs for Southern, while Lindsay Inman was 1-for-2 and delivered several key defensive plays.

Southern plays host to North Forsyth today at 7 p.m.

HP CENTRAL 5, GRIMSLEY 0

GREENSBORO – Caitlin Kennedy struck out six and walked two in a three-hit shutout as High Point Central blanked Grimsley 5-0 on Monday night.

The Bison (5-3) got RBIs from Molly Hussey, Kaylor Reece, Kennedy and Morningskye Starr. Jenny Lindh and Kennedy stole two bases each. The Bison scored two in the first, two in the third and one in the fourth.

Central plays host to Northwest Guilford today.

RAGSDALE 10, T.W. ANDREWS 6

HIGH POINT – Ragsdale secured a 10-6 victory over T.W. Andrews on Monday night.

Brianna Dicicco earned the win for the Tigers. Jacqueline Vera took the loss for the Red Raiders (0-5).

Raven Dawkins and Jamie Bailey each went 2-for-4 for Andrews, which plays host to Atkins today at 5 p.m.

Baseball

WESLEYAN 15, RAVENSCROFT 8

RALEIGH – Chris Ferrante and Cameron Hedrix slugged home runs and combined for nine RBIs as Wesleyan Christian Academy rolled past Ravenscroft 15-8 on Monday.

Ferrante went 3-for-4 with five RBIs, while Hendrix finished 3-for-3 with a double and four runs driven in for the Trojans (4-3).

Winning pitcher Nick Blackwood (2-1) tossed four innings with six strikeouts, no walks and three earned runs. David Anderson tossed the final three innings.

Wesleyan plays three games in Tuscaloosa, Alabama next week.

Soccer

WESTCHESTER 3, METROLINA 0

HIGH POINT – Westchester Country Day School netted a 3-0 victory over Metrolina Christian on Monday.

Courtney Shannon, Abbey Pfister and Avery Keefe scored for the Wildcats (4-0-1). Robin Terrell dished two assists and Mary Ragan made four saves in goal for WCD.

Westchester visits Caldwell Academy today at 4:30 p.m.

TRINITY 5, RANDLEMAN 0

TRINITY – Logan Terry scored two goals and dished an assist as Trinity defeated Randleman 5-0 on Monday.

Taylor Hembree added a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs (9-2). Allie Lewis and Brook Dills each booted a goal, while Allison Floyd and Hannah Mebane dished one assist apiece. Morgan Loeffler and Andi Shelton split time in goal for the Bulldogs.

Trinity plays host to T.W. Andrews on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

HP CENTRAL 5, S. GUILFORD 0

SUMNER – Kat Andrews booted two goals and Taylor Johnson scored a goal and dished an assist as High Point Central blanked Southern Guilford 5-0 on Monday.

Maria Garcia and Molly Shank added a goal each for the Bison (3-3). Mary Meade McMullen dished two assists for Central, which plays at Northwest Guilford today at 6 p.m.

SW GUILFORD 9, PARKLAND 1

WINSTON-SALEM – Maggie Clark tallied two goals and two assists to lead a balanced attack as Southwest Guilford cruised past Parkland 9-1 in Piedmont Triad 4A Conference action on Monday night.

Morgan Jackson and Brooke Masi added two goals and one assist each for the Cowgirls (2-4-1, 1-1). Kate Lamar, Marissa Wiater and Hannah Burnette notched one goal apiece and Michelle Marrara dished an assist. Kayla Kruger and Rebecca Mortensen split time in goal for the Cowgirls.

Southwest plays host to Ragsdale today at 6 p.m.

WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 7,

FORSYTH HOME EDUCATORS 0

HIGH POINT – Mercedes Ducker booted two goals as Wesleyan Christian Academy downed Forsyth Home Educators 7-0 on Monday night.

Lashley Kirkman, Alex Proehl, Liz Shonover, Leah Vidovich and Maddie Joyce added one goal each for the Trojans (3-3). Emily Scott, Haley Jones, Ducker and Vidovich dished assists. Elly Johnson made one save in goal for WCA.

Tennis

SW GUILFORD 7, LEDFORD 2

WALLBURG – Southwest Guilford swept the doubles matches and downed Ledford 7-2 in nonconference action on Monday.

Joel Shufford-Andrew Daniel, Austin Lynk-Kevin Lyons and Christian Pfuhl-Greg Funk won in doubles for the Cowboys (6-1). Daniel, Lynk, Lyons and Funk prevailed in singles.

Landon Rogers and Thomas Edwards netted singles victories for the Panthers (7-1).

Ledford plays host to North Davidson today at 4:15 p.m.

C. Davidson 7, E. Davidson 2

THOMASVILLE – Central Davidson netted a 7-2 victory over East Davidson on Monday at Colonial Country Club.

Cameron Murphy won in singles for the Golden Eagles (1-2). Clay Ballard and Bryan Payne prevailed in doubles.

East visits West Davidson on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Asheboro 9, S. Guilford 0

ASHEBORO – Asheboro posted a 9-0 victory over Southern Guilford on Monday.

The Storm fell to 3-3 overall, 1-2 in the Mid-Piedmont 3A Conference.

Southern plays host to Randleman on Thursday.

At THE MEADOWLANDS

WALLBURG – Westchester Country Day School’s Jonathan DiIanni earned medalist honors at even-par 36 to spark the Wildcats to victory oin Monday’s tri-match.

Westchester won at 149, followed by St. David’s at 182 and High Point Christian Academy at 195.

Other counting scorers for WCD (5-0-1) were Will DiIanni and Thomas Walsh at 37 and Andrew Bauer at 39.

For HPCA, Brian Segers led at 41 and Tully Dominguez shot 46.

Westchester plays Forsyth Country Day and Calvary on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Willow Creek.

At JAMESTOWN PARK

JAMESTOWN – Northwest Guilford captured Monday’s Piedmont Triad 4A Conference match at Jamestown Park.

The Vikings won with a 167, followed by East Forsyth at 168, Glenn at 171, Ragsdale at 173, High Point Central at 182, Southwest Guilford at 187 and Parkland at 210.

Glenn’s Christian Hawley and Ragsdale’s Gabe Snyder shared medalist honors at 2-over 38.

For the Bison, Justin Franklin shot 42, Houstin Butler carded 45, Kevin Green shot 47 and Sam Duckett recorded 48.

Davis Hoke and Garrett Wydysh shot 43s for the Cowboys, while Colin Burnette shot 49 and Chase Runyan had a 52.

Southwest plays host to West Davidson today at 3:30 p.m. at Jamestown Park. The next full PTC 4A match is Thursday at 4 p.m. at Maple Leaf.

AT HEMLOCK GOLF COURSE

WALNUT COVE – Bishop McGuinness and South Stokes tied for first place at 148 in Monday’s Northwest 1A/2A Conference match at Hemlock Golf Course.

North Surry placed third at 149, with North Stokes fourth at 150. East Surry took fifth at 153, followed by West Stokes at 169, Surry Central at 172 and Mount Airy at 180.

Three golfers shared medalist honors at 34 – East Surry’s Seth Covington, North Surry’s Justin Young and Mt. Airy’s Cody Hodges.

For Bishop, Stanhope Johnson led at 35 and teammate Mark Sowinski shot 37.

AT OAK HOLLOW

HIGH POINT – Trinity shot 151 to win Monday’s Pac-6 Conference match on Monday at Oak Hollow.

Randleman placed second at 175, followed by Wheatmore at 204, Carver at 219, Atkins at 223 and T.W. Andrews at 241.

Trinity’s Greg Mauldin earned medalist honors at 1-under 35, while teammates Andrew Kersey and Christian Steffen carded 38s and Dillon Shoe shot 40.

Jordan Rusell led the Red Raiders with a 50.

Atkins hosts another Pac-6 match on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Winston Lakes.

Lacrosse

REAGAN 6, BISHOP 4

KERNERSVILLE – Reagan edged Bishop McGuinness 6-4 in boys action on Monday night.

Kevin Ferretti scored two goals for the Villains (2-3). Thomas Lawler added a goal and an assist for Bishop, while Thomas Valle had a goal. Shane Delaney dished an assist for the Villains, who got 10 saves from Andrew Shortt.

Bishop plays host to Mount Tabor on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

RAGSDALE 10, GRIMSLEY 4

GREENSBORO – Kathryn Carter tallied three goals and dished two assists as Ragsdale’s girls posted a 10-4 victory over Grimsley on Monday night.

Abby Hall and Ashley Kiser added two goals each for the Tigers (3-3). Kathleen Harrington, Emma Sonricker and Gretchen Hemm had one goal each. Kyleigh Garrison, Harrington and Sonricker each dished an assist and Kristen Eguren made nine saves in goal.
