HIGH POINT – Needing to squeeze in games before the end of the regular season next week, High Point Christian Academy split with Carolina Friends on Tuesday in a Triad Athletic Conference matchup.

The Cougar boys rolled 79-56 over the visitors from Durham. Jordan Weethee, a 6-foot-7 junior wing, scored 10 points in his first game of the season for HPCA following a knee injury. Ryan Dula also had 10 points, while Jordan Nix-Denmark led the way with 22.

HPCA (9-14, 4-2 TAC) built a 39-26 lead at the half.

In the girls game, league leader Carolina Friends rolled 51-24.

The Cougars (11-11, 5-2) trailed just 21-12 at the half but only scored 12 more points in the second half as the Carolina Friends’ offense took off. Kylie Welborn paced HPCA with nine points and Tara Moseley added six.

The Cougars are scheduled to host Calvary on Friday.
