Thomasville pins West Davidson in wrestling

Thomasville slammed West Davidson 77-6 in a Central Carolina 2A Conference match on Thursday.

Winners for the Bulldogs were: Quahiygee Martin (106). Jason Boutsady (113), Ahsan Butt (120), Louis Gutree (126). Corbin Wilon (132), Brett Hokenson (138), Lucas Williams (145), Evan Makupson (160), Aaron Reeves (170), Gabe Brockett (182). Keith Clemmons (195), Anthony Vrisano (220) and Tequan Williams (heavyweight).

Thomasville (2-0 CCC) is to host a dual-team tournament Saturday, weather permitting.

 

WHEATMORE 39, TRINITY 31

TRINITY – Wheatmore edged Trinity 39-31 in a PAC6 match on Thursday.

Winners for Trinity included Tyler Myers (126 pounds, decision), Brandon Sparks (138. pin), Alex Guevera (145, pin). A.J. Patron (152, pin), James Ryan (160, major decision), Chass Delgado (heavyweight, pin).

Winners for Wheatmore were not reported.

Trinity is scheduled to wrestle in a tournament at Glenn on Saturday.

 

BASKETBALL

WESLEYAN GIRLS 41, NORTHSIDE 33

CHARLOTTE – Wesleyan’s girls outscored Northside Christian by eight in the second half and took a 41-33 victory on Thursday.

Jessica Williard scored 17 points while Holland Robinson had 10 for the Trojans, who improved to 8-10.

 

POSTPONEMENTS

KERERSVILLE – Northwest Guilford’s basketball games at Glenn scheduled for Friday were postponed Thursday because of the potential for ice and snow. The games were rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 31.

Bishop McGuinness athletic events for Friday were postponed. The basketball games vs. South Stokes have been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7 (6:30 tip for the girls game at Bishop). Wrestling as been rescheduled for Jan. 30 (same time, location).

 

HIGH POINT — High Point Central's basketball games Friday at East Forsyth have also been reschedule for Thursday, Jan. 31. Also, Saturday's wrestling tournament is still on — tentatively.
