Rain washes out 4A golf regional
The NCHSAA 4A Midwest Regional at Oak Hollow will be played Thursday morning, after play was washed out Monday morning.
The first players got about halfway through the front nine before play was suspended and eventually cancelled. Monday’s scores will be thrown out and play will start over at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
High Point Central, as a team, will begin play at 8 a.m. Also, Trevor Blevins of Glenn (8:00), David Song of Ragsdale (8:30) and Southwest Guilford’s Drew Adams (9:00) and Zach Lance (9:10) will be playing individually.
The top three schools, plus the top three individuals not qualifying with their schools, will advance to the state championship May 13 and 14 at Pinehurst No. 8.

The first round is schedule for Wednesday, while the second round is scheduled for Saturday.
BISHOP SET TO HOST LAKE NORMAN CHARTER IN ROUND TWO
KERNERSVILLE — The Bishop McGuinness boys team will play host to Lake Norman Charter today at 4 p.m. in the second round of the NCHSAA 1A dual-team playoffs, weather permitting.
The Villains (13-1) defeated Alleghany 8-1 in the first round of the playoffs last week.
PTC 4A CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Piedmont Triad 4A Conference tournament championships for baseball and softball will be played tonight at 7. They were originally schedule for Monday but were moved due to weather.
BISHOP GIRLS HEAD TO MARVIN RIDGE
The Bishop McGuinness girls lacrosse team visits Marvin Ridge tonight for an NCHSAA second-round playoff game at 7 p.m., weather permitting.
The Villains defeated Ragsdale 12-5 in the first round of the postseason.
