Wesleyan boys, girls sweep Flora Mac
Welseyan’s girls pulled away over the last three quarters and rolled to a 53-22 victory over Flora Macdonald Academy.
Jessica Williard led the Trojans with 18 points. Anna Massey added 15 and Holland Robinson had 10.
Up just 8-5 after the first quarter, Wesleyan (2-1) led 21-8 at the half and 38-16 going into the fourth quarter.
WESLEYAN BOYS 84, FLORA MACDONALD 54
HIGH POINT — Wesleyan Christian rolled to a 84-54 win against Flora Macdonald in a nonconference game Monday night.
Trey Chapman scored 13 points to lead the Trojans (3-0), who led 31-17 at halftime, while Theo Pinson and Donovan Gilmore each added 11. JaQuel Richmond followed with 10.
Wesleyan plays again Thursday at Village Christian in Fayetteville.
BISHOP BOYS 62, OAK LEVEL 43
KERNERSVILLE — Kevin Weckworth scored 19 points while Nick Efird added 11 to lead the Bishop McGuinness boys past visiting Oak Level 62-43 in a nonconference game Monday night.
The Villains (2-0) used a 21-point second quarter to extend their eight-point lead after the first quarter to 36-19 at halftime and cruised to the win.
Tommy Koesters also had 10 rebounds to lead Bishop, which opens Northwest 1A/2A play Dec. 4 at home against Surry Central at 8 p.m.
ANDREWS-CENTRAL SET FOR FRIDAY AT THE MILLIS CENTER
HIGH POINT – The T.W. Andrews-HP Central varsity basketball games on Friday will be played at High Point University. All tickets will be pre-sold for $5. There will be no tickets sold at the gate. All cars must be parked at College Village and Vert Stadium on the Campus at High Point University where a shuttle for people with their pre-sold tickets will be taken to and from the Millis Center. Game time is 6 for the girls and 7:30 for the boys. Tickets can only be purchased at each school’s Main Office. The sale runs daily at each school and ends on Friday at 2 p.m.
