Andrews keeps No. 1 ranking

The High Point Enterprise High Five prep football poll proved remarkably stable this week.

All five positions stayed the same as a week ago. All five teams received the same number of poll points.

T.W. Andrews earned all three first-place votes for 15 points. The Red Raiders improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in PAC-6 2A play with a 45-10 romp past Eastern Randolph at Simeon Stadium on Friday night.

High Point Central held second place with 12 points. The Bison upped their record to 6-3, 2-1 in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference with a 21-14 win at Ragsdale.

Southern Guilford collected all three third-place votes for nine points. The Storm (6-4, 4-1 Mid-Piedmont 3A Conference) cruised past Southwestern Randolph for a 27-14 victory on Friday night.

Ledford kept fourth place with six points. The Panthers (5-4) defeated East Rowan 41-14 in nonconference action on Friday night.

East Davidson rounded out the survey in fifth place with three points. The Golden Eagles (7-2, 1-2 Central Carolina 2A Conference) fell 46-7 at powerful North Rowan on Friday night.

All five ranked teams are in action on Friday night.

Andrews visits Wheatmore, while Central plays host to Glenn, Southern Guilford travels to Ledford and East Davidson entertains Lexington.

Also Friday, it’s Southwest Guilford at Northwest Guilford; High Point Christian Academy at Hickory Grove Christian; Providence Grove at Trinity; Ragsdale at East Forsyth; Walkertown at Bishop McGuinness; and North Rowan at Thomasville.
