For the third time in four weeks, there’s a new team atop The High Point Enterprise High Five prep football poll.

T.W. Andrews ended High Point Central’s one-week stay at No. 1 as the squads swapped positions following an eventful Friday night of action.

The Red Raiders collected all three first-place votes and 15 points following Friday’s 42-10 homecoming romp past Randleman. Andrews improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in PAC-6 2A play.

The Bison earned all three second-place votes for 12 points. Central fell to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference with Friday’s 28-25 loss at Northwest Guilford.

Central spent the first five weeks ranked No. 1, then Andrews assumed the top spot for two weeks before the Bison returned to the summit last week.

Southern Guilford climbed from fourth to third this week. The Storm (5-3, 3-1 Mid-Piedmont 3A) used a last-second field goal to defeat Asheboro 17-14 on Friday. Southern notched all three third-place votes for nine points.

Ledford moved up one notch from last week, receiving all three fourth-place votes for six points, The Panthers (5-3, 2-2 Mid-Piedmont 3A) cruised past Southwestern Randolph 24-7 on Friday night.

East Davidson slipped from third to fifth with three points. The Golden Eagles (6-2, 1-1 Central Carolina 2A Conference) lost 28-0 to Thomasville on Friday night.

All five ranked teams are in action this week.

Andrews plays host to Eastern Randolph on Friday, while Central travels to Ragsdale, Southern entertains Southwestern Randolph, Ledford welcomes East Rowan and East Davidson visits North Rowan.

Also Friday, it’s East Forsyth at Southwest Guilford; Asheville School at High Point Christian Academy; Northwest Guilford at Glenn; Trinity at Randleman; Wheatmore at Providence Grove; Atkins at Bishop McGuinness; and Thomasville at Salisbury.
