Wesleyan boys stop Christ School’s 81-game home winning streak

ARDEN – Wesleyan Christian Academy’s boys snapped Christ School’s 81-game homecourt winning streak with a 61-48 victory on Friday night.
The Trojans (9-0) ended a streak that had lasted for six seasons.
Harry Giles led WCA with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Trey Chapman added 10 points and JaQuel Richmond had nine points, four asists and two steals.
Wesleyan built a 16-7 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Trojans led 39-30 after three periods and pulled away over the final frame.
Wesleyan’s boys look to ride their momentum to success in the Chick-Fil-A Classic, which starts Thursday in Columbia, S.C.

RALEIGH – Jackson Kent pumped in 24 points and dished six assists as High Point Christian Academy cruised past North Raleigh Christian Acadmy for a 73-53 boys win on Friday night.
Diante Baldwin added 15 points for the Cougars (7-1), while  Mike Kobani had 14 and Isiah Gill eight.
Trey Patton led NRCA with 17 points.
HPCA returns to action on Thursday in the 23rd Annual Kreul Classic in Coral Springs, Florida.

GREENSBORO – Terrell Leach scored 29 points to spark undefeated Southwest Guilford to a 90-70 Piedmont Triad 4A Conference win over Northwest Guilford on Friday night.
K.J. Langley added 20 points for the Cowboys (5-0, 2-0), while Tyliek Brister tallied 10. Ben Ferguson and D.J. Chamblee finished with nine points each for the Cowboys, who broke open a tight game with a 22-12 third-quarter scoring edge.
The Vikings (6-2, 1-1) were led by Cody Hylton’s 16 points. Chris Keefer added 11.

TRINITY – West Davidson handed the Wheatmore boys their first loss of the season with a 69-63 victory on Friday night.
In the girls game, West netted a 45-42 win.
West’s Austin Teague struck for 41 points, including 19 of 20 free throws, as the Green Dragons rallied from a 38-27 halftime deficit.
Anthony Harris led the Warrior boys (9-1) with 12 points, while Madison Fountain tallied 11, Marshall Lange 10 and Brandon Hardin nine.
Taylor Walker led the Wheatmore girls (2-7) with 24 points. Georgia Garrison and Kylie Welborn added six points apiece. Somer Stout grabbed 12 rebounds and scored four points for Wheatmore, while Garrison had 10 rebounds and Kaitlin Stevenson tallied eight boards.
Wheatmore plays at Eastern Randolph on Monday.

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Kristina King led a balanced attack with 13 points as the New Hope Christian Academy girls topped Three Point Line Christian Academy 68-38 on Friday night.
Katherine Harris added 11 points and seven steals for the Phoenix (9-0), while Lucky Rudd had nine points and Paris Johnson and Sarah Beal finished with eight points each.
New Hope led 41-24 at halftime and never looked back.
