Trinity no-hits Atkins, 21-0
TRINITY 21, ATKINS 0 (3 INNINGS)
WINSTON-SALEM — Noelle Butler tossed two innings and Johna Mizzi worked one as Trinity no-hit Atkins 21-0 in three innings in PAC-6 2A action on Friday.
The duo combined for eight strikeouts for the Bulldogs (8-6, 2-2). Butler finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs, while Mizzi went 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and three runs.
Trinity’s Katie Latta finished 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs, while Susan Yates went 3-for-3 with four runs and an RBI.
Trinity plays host to Carver on April 9 at 5 p.m.
EAST DAVIDSON 15, WEST DAVIDSON 5
TYRO — Natalie Naturile went 6 for 6, drove in three runs and scored two more as East Davidson topped West Davidson 15-5 on Thursday.
Morgan Gallimore was 4 for 6 with two RBIs and three run scored. Bailey Jones was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Brooke Walser was the winning pitcher. She struck out three and walked one.
WESLEYAN 14, N. RALEIGH CHRISTIAN 8
HIGH POINT — Behind a six-run third inning, Wesleyan Christian Academy broke free from North Raleigh Christian for a 14-8 win Thursday at Ed Price Field.
Weston Wilson roped three doubles and drove in two runs to lead the Trojans (7-1), ranked No. 1 in the NCISAA 3A, while Johnny Rollins and Beau Myers each added three hits and two RBIs. Ryan Clinch also had three hits.
Jake Moebius (4-0) pitched five strong innings in relief of Rollins. Moebius struck out six in five innings.
Wesleyan plays again Saturday afternoon at Trinity at approximately 1:30.
TRACK AND FIELD
KERNERSVILLE – Bishop McGuinness won eight events in taking the boys team title at a tri-meet on Thursday.
The Villains finished with 62 points to edge Mount Airy by two points. Surry Central was a distant third with 26.
Winners for Bishop included Joe McNamara (100 meters, 11.2 seconds and 200 meters, 22.9 seconds), Zach Bruns (800 meters, 2:10.8), Greg Redden (1600, 5:04.1), the 4x100 relay team (51.5 seconds), the 4x200 relay team (1:58.6). The 4x400 relay team (3:56.7) and the 4X800 relay team (9:32.3).
Surry Central won the girl portion with 65 points with Mt. Airy second (44) and Bishop third (29). Winners for Bishop were Bailey Seach in the 800 at 2:30.1, the 4X400 relay team (4:46.2) and the 4x800 relay team (11:28.7).
